Laurin Asdal

Laurin started her career in the nonprofit community at age 14, when she began volunteering for an AIDS hospice in Southern California; she has been hooked on social justice causes ever since. After eight years at Mother Jones, Laurin couldn't imagine a better job: She spends her time talking to interesting and committed people who feel as passionately as she does about the critical need for an independent American press. Laurin is the former cochair of the board of Bitch magazine and received her BA in sociology and political science from the University of California-Santa Barbara.
