A former staff reporter at the Center for Investigative Reporting, Will Evans covered money and politics and the federal judiciary. During the 2008 election, he tracked the money behind independent campaign ads for The Secret Money Project, a joint venture with NPR; the project was a finalist for the 2008 IRE awards. Evans’ work at CIR was also published by the Los Angeles Times, Salon.com, Politico, ABCNews.com and the CBS Evening News. His 2006 series on judicial conflicts of interest was a finalist for the Livingston Awards for Young Journalists, the Online News Association’s investigative journalism award and the Investigative Reporters and Editors online award. Prior to joining CIR in 2005, Evans was a reporter at The Sacramento Bee. He has also written for Chile’s national newspaper, La Tercera.
