Julia, what do you have against abortion. Have you noticed that the world has an over population problem. This is just Nature's way(amongst others) of handling the causers of many problems.

Thanks Lucy. You are 100% right. human over-population is the "elephant in the living room" when it comes to environmental problems. None of the media, or the politicians want to address this problem. This trashy-assed administration has consistently refused to allow money to go to the UNFPA. Hopefully, a new administration will change that. Keep up your good comments.

Lucy, the low birth weight issues only show up later in life. Even you must admit that abortion is not going to solve the problem of cardiovascular disease in adulthood. Though if you really understood, you would recognize that abortion does not solve any problems. "Overpopulation" is a frame of mind.

Population pressures are certainly a concern. However, we in the West consume vastly more of the world's resources per head than those living in the economically poorer countries, even if they have higher population growth rates than us. So we need to tackle over-consumption and chronic waste as much as population growth.
