The MoJo 400's Top Five (1996)

The fattest of the Fat Cats. The images below are more than just a few pretty faces. Click on them to read more about these captains of control.

#1. The number one political contributor is a secretive billionaire from Cleveland, Ohio, who built a small pipe-fitting company into a billon-dollar enterprise. A conservative Republican, he "encourages" his distributors across the country to give to his favorite political candidates. #2. After Bill Clinton dined with Lerach, who makes millions suing Silicon Valley companies, the president suddenly dropped tort reform.
#3. As head of food giant Archer Daniels Midland, Andreas is the U.S.'s number one recipient of corporate welfare. He gives to any politician who will help butter his bread. #4. In addition to being a big Dole backer, Lindner has served as a mentor and colleague to two of the best known crooks of our time, Charles Keating and Michael Milken.
#5.
This billionaire oilman has long been a player in Hollywood
politics. Recently, he obtained a casino license and added
gambling to his oil and real estate interests.
