 To help save the reefs of Trinidad & Tobago, get active with these groups:
| | _________ |  A former British possession just off Venezuela's coast, Trinidad & Tobago has depleted its mangroves and polluted its waters with oil, sewage, and industrial wastes that threaten reef ecosystems. Rapid wasting disease has been spotted attacking corals around both the major islands. The government appears to be getting with the conservation program. In December 1997, its Parastatal Institute of Marine Affairs created the Speyside Reefs Marine Park and started researching a management plan for it; the House of Assembly specifically requested the study to help it manage Tobago's reefs sustainably.
