Chandia was a third grade teacher who assisted Ali al-Timimi, who guided the "Virginia Jihad Network." He also helped ship $50,000 worth of paintball pellets from the United States to Pakistan. Prosecutors alleged that Chandia was trained at a Lashkar-e-Taiba camp, but he was not convicted on those charges. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
