| Description: | Al-Marri, a student from Qatar, was arrested for credit card fraud. During his interrogation, he lied about making phone calls to 9/11 financier Mustafa al-Hawsawi. Marri was designated an enemy combatant and detained for six years on suspicion that he was an Al Qaeda sleeper agent. He later admitted to training at Al Qaeda camps, staying in Al Qaeda safe houses, receiving weapons and code training, and being in contact with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. He was sentenced to more than eight years in prison. |
