Romero-Panchano, along with Fanny Barrera-De Amaris, Uwe Jensen, Adriana Mora, Edgar Fernando Blanco Puerta, Elkin Alberto Arroyave Ruiz, and Carlos Varela, was arrested as part of Operation White Terror, a drugs and weapons sting. A Colombian national, Panchano was responsible for soliciting members of the United Self Defense Groups of Colombia (AUC), a right-wing paramilitary group, to participate in the deal. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
