Ahmed, a Pakistani computer engineer, made online contact with an Al Qaeda operative, actually an FBI agent. The undercover agent tasked Ahmed with surveilling four Washington, DC, Metro stations. Ahmed said he had been training for an attack by studying martial arts as well as knife and gun techniques. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
