Elashi and his brothers Basman, Bayan, Hazim, and Ihsan were charged with illegally selling computers to Libya and Syria as well as financial dealings with Mousa Abu Marzook, a senior Hamas official. Ghassan Elashi was a founder of the Holy Land Foundation, a charity that funneled $12 million to Hamas. He was sentenced to more than six years in prison in connection with this case; he was sentenced to 65 years in the Holy Land case.
