Description:

Lindh, dubbed "the American Taliban," converted to Islam and traveled to Yemen and Pakistan. He received training at an Al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan, attended lectures by Osama bin Laden, and joined the Afghan Taliban. He was captured as an enemy combatant during the US invasion of Afghanistan and convicted on material support charges. As part of a plea bargain, he agreed not to claim that he was mistreated during his detention. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
