Brent was a Washington, D.C. cab driver who attended a Lashkar-e-Taiba training camp in Pakistan. His background was revealed to the FBI by his associate Tarik Shah, who told an undercover informant that Brent had complained about how "difficult it was to be back in the United States." Shah recorded a conversation between himself and Brent discussing terrorist training and finding foreign contacts. Brent was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
