Al-Bakri, along with Sahim Alwan, Faysal Galab, Yahya Goba, Shafal Mosed, and Yasein Taher, was part of the Lackawanna Six, a group of men charged with providing material support to Al Qaeda. He received training at an Al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan. He admitted to staying for extra training, but said that he never felt allegiance to Al Qaeda. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
