Mohamed provided a false tip to the FBI that Al Qaeda operatives were planning to enter the country from Canada using fake American passports and bomb a Los Angeles mall. In reality, there was no terrorist plot. Mohamed was seeking revenge against the people he fingered, including his ex-girlfriend. He was sentenced to five years in prison.
