July/August Issue is a must read. Now sure how I've missed this fantastic magazines all these years.
The whole thing is just ridiculous. "The Democrats like it so therefore we don't like it and it's bad!" Who would have thought that GOP members would have such nostalgia for something like a light bulb?
Can someone remind me why it's okay to "cure" homosexuality with federal funds, yet it isn't okay to provide women with safe, affordable healthcare? I must be missing something.

The private sector is adding jobs, while stimulus (e.g. "fake" jobs) are cut, and people wonder why the jobs number isn't moving? Stop taxing me to make a job for someone else—all that does is punish the people already working.

Of course! The minute that it's all about the scores, rather than all about educating, & teachers are told that the scores must be high, what else could be expected? Particularly when funding becomes tied to test scores instead of actual need?
Why should anyone be surprised that sexual assaults and violence against women are prevalent in the military? Look at the level of violence against women in the civilian world! Our society, despite its claims of enlightenment, still treats women as second class citizens. Until we acknowledge and hold sacrosanct the belief that men and women are of equal value to our society, we will never become the Nation of our promise. We need to expect and demand more from ourselves and from the people who represent us.

This article pretty much lays the groundwork for why people need unions to counterbalance corporate mistreatment and lawbreakers. And, failing that, why workers need to hire their own head busters to target management.
