RE: All-Expenses-Paid India Vacation, Courtesy of Your Health Insurer My husband just returned from a trip to Bangkok for dental work. The quality of the work was excellent. He was able to fly to Thailand and back, have x-rays, cleaning, sealants, fillings replaced, two root canals and a bridge done - plus a 12-day tour of Vietnam - for about the cost of a dental bridge alone here in the states. We complain about outsourcing jobs to other countries, so I am of two minds about 'medical vacations.' But in this case, my husband was able to take a vacation instead of paying for his US dentist's. I wouldn't deny anyone a decent living, but it seems immoral for anyone to profit from health care excessively as the insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and some physicians do in this country. Greed should have no role in health care. Posted by: Karen November 25, 2008
