Boo!
BOO!....This is a few days old, but it just occurred to me to wonder who won the Halloween mask contest this year. Here's the answer:
Barack Obama will be the next president. At least that's what BuySeasons of New Berlin predicted last week based on the sales of its 99-cent paper presidential masks.
Sales of the masks as of Oct. 31 showed Obama with 55 percent of the sales and John McCain with 45 percent. The company, founded in 1999, has accurately predicted the last two presidential elections based on its mask sales.
Just sayin'.

what's weird is how closely those numbers track the poll numbers.
let's hope the mask-test is vindicated.
(as well as the taller-candidate test).
Sounds suspect. How do you know if they're buying the mask because they support the candidate, or because they find him the most terrifying?
If I may comment on an issue from your posts of the recent past: Bob Somerby's is right. When we hear, as we will, about "the liberal media" in the coming weeks; the war against Gore is the best place to start the rebuke. Although, of course, said was only the sad, disasterous climax of the MSM in the Clinton Years.
Here, Kevin Drum should be challenged to write with absolute intellectual honesty; because I believe the reason you never hear about "the War on Gore" was because left progressives were often complicted in the great battles. The lack of scruples progressvies displayed when it came to the Clintons is, I'm afraid, a little chilling; from the free pass given to McCarthite Christopher Hitchens to Raachel Maddow explain how Hillary Clinton was trying to get Obama assasinatied. Truely appaling things about the Clintons have been written by writers I would otherwise have great admiration for, like Barbara Ehrenreich.
It's funny how you never hear Clinton's impeachment even mentioned anymore; or will anyone do a compare and contrast of how the last two Presidents were treated by the Press as they left office, in context of the State of The Nation?
Somerby's problem, and it may be an east coast prejudice, is an unnessary repetition of targets. Where is prize clown Marc Cooper? If you want to know how Frank Rich is percevied as a class act, one really needs to read The L.A. Weekly's champion dumb bell.
In closing, I will claim utter credibility for these views in that I was once the target of the Howler ire. It's a funny story I'll tell you sometime. He's still my hero.
Keep your kids indoors! Hank Paulson's in the 'hood.
And yet . . . at the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade on Friday, I saw at least eight people, of both genders, dressed as Sarah Palin, and I feel safe in saying that none of the costumes was intended to indicate support.
Oh please. Precedent schmegedent...
Little Alison Grace won!
McCain will rightfully point out that you forgot to add the Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin Masks to the Count-Obama is beat at least 2 to 1......
I still think the Ashley Todd mask is scarier.
