Friday Cat Blogging - 6 November 2009
On the left, Domino is snoozing the morning away while Inkblot ponders his options. After I took this picture I hopped in the shower, and when I got out Domino was gone and Inkblot had buried himself under the blankets. What happened in between? Is that a guilty look on his face? As with Schrödinger's cat, no human will ever know.

Of course, we DO know. The
Of course, we DO know. The whole point of Schroedinger's Cat is that when we open the box and discover the cat dead or alive, the WAS dead or alive beforehand. Schroedinger was mocking the strict Copenhagen interpretation of QM that, applied to this scenario, would contend that the cat was in a superposition of dead and alive states.
We now have a better framework of quantum measurement that is now consisitent with Schroedingers view that the cat was already dead or alive prior to looking.
Inkblot looks more fearful
Inkblot looks more fearful than guilty. My interpretation is that Domino moved and this terrified Inkblot, who had to go hide under the blankets.
In spite of what some people might think, Inkblot is hardly made of presidential timber.
What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How quickly you have forgotten those whirling paws of death.
You know
Showers make scary noises and involve getting wet. I'd hide or run, too, if I were a cat.
That guilty look!
Hello there humans!
Wouldn't you like to know?
I can think of a few things I would have done myself...........
..............but then again I am a cat!

Warmth
I think Inkblot is looking pleased with himself - he's found a nice warm place to nap; and I suspect he won it over Domino.
Guilt?
Cats do not do guilt! They do privilege! That look you see is the satisfaction of a cat who has successfully driven off their sibling and now has the entire bed to themselves.
Guilt is a wasted emotion reserved for dogs.
My Cat Doesn't Know

I have a cat who likes to jump in when I'm showering. He likes to chase clumps of suds as they swirl down the drain. When the tub is dry, he lies over the drain and bats a ping-pong ball I leave there for him. He's smart enough to know it always rolls back to him.
There are at least three breeds that like water. Anyone who has an Abyssinian or a Somali will tell you that it's important to keep the toilet lid down. The Turkish Van is also known as the Turkish Swimming Cat.
Catz
Back in my smoking days I had a sealpoint Siamese who would relentlessly retrieve my crumpled cigarette pack and drop it on my chest.
Must have had a little retriever blood in him.
