Ahmadinejad Claims Gays Do Not Exist in Iran
This is why you let guys like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speak. They eventually make asses of themselves. From the Iranian president's highly disputed appearance at Columbia:
Actually, um, there are gays in Iran. Think Progress quotes 365gay.com: "Some international gay rights groups believe that more than 4,000 lesbians and gay men have been executed since the Ayatollahs seized power in 1979." And here's video proof.

A taxpayer-supported "gay" celebration in San Francisco,(9/30/07) features a poster portraying Jesus Christ and his disciples as "half-naked homosexual sadomasochists," has come under heavy fire from major Christian groups demanding that California lawmakers condemn it. Homosexual activists "disingenuously call Christians 'haters' and 'homophobes' for honoring the Bible, but then lash out in this hateful manner toward the very people they accuse." The Folsom Street Fair is reminiscent of biblical Sodom and Gomorrah, and the media should document exactly what the city of San Francisco is allowing to occur ? in public ? in the name of "tolerance."

Why Mr. Stein, it looks like you are an Islamophob. What is worse, homophobic or Islamophobic? Are Semites more prone to being Islamophobic than goys? What therapy would Dr. Jung recommend?
Dr. Freud, as an educated man I would have thought you'd know that Semites often ARE Islamic!
Ever heard of ARABS?
http://www.journeytoislam.com/stereotypes_clar/anti-semitic.htm
What is worse, ignorance or stupidity?
I think Dr. Jung would recommend: Back to School, for YOU!
Dr. Freud,
You accuse Jonathan of bigotry, when it is you that is bigoted...and wrong. Mr. Stein is not Jewish. A case for not going off half-cocked.
The American media is bound and determined to demonize Ahmedinejad and to present him as the face of Iran so as to make the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent, sane, beautiful people that much easier when it begins. Nice work.
Frank, as you may know, he did not say what the "American Media" states that he said. Yesterday he said that he would not attack Israel and Iran is a peace loving nation. Israel has close to 200 nukes, far too many that is needed just for defensive purposes. We need a nuclear free zone in the middle east to avoid an arms race. Unfortunately, the US stands out in opposing that idea. Europe and the rest of the world understands the middle east situation. If the US massive military would stay out of the middle east, we would not provoke problems. Jewish Voice for Peace
Thanks, Cameron. It took me a while to realize that it actually matters to some of our commentors if I am Jewish or not. For the record, I'm not. Nor is anyone in my family. The name, which leads to the misconception, is an accident of history, I guess.
Again, I don't see how my religion is in any way relevant to what I write, or to the discussions had in our comments section. But to set the record straight, I am not Jewish.
Challah.
Cameron, you are right to be against perceived bigotry against Jews(so you do know what bigotry is), but some of your blogs have had a definite anti-Christian bigotry, which I can only interpret as intentional. Some of the posters have noticed that as well. This just makes you look like a hypocrite.
Donohue,
Only that group of Christian reactionaries which tries to repress my religious freedom, right to employment and housing, right to love and marriage, and generally my safety as a queer person--and seeks to win elections by stimulating others' basest instincts--have ever been discussed in my blog posts. I see no hypocrisy there whatsoever. Bigotry=bad. I fully support their rights until they infringe on mine.
Cameron is absolutely right. He never gave a Christian what-for that didn't act in an unChristian way.
Stein may not be Jewish, but he's got Hebrew tendencies.
Cameron Scott, I am like you, I am like you in regards to the Jew Zionists that "repress my religious freedom, right to employment and housing, right to love and marriage, and generally my safety" as a Palestinian in occupied Palestine. Free Palestine.
Dan..., short for Daniel, right?
A Hebrew name, isn't it? Associated with some Jew and a bunch of lions, as I recall?
You must be a Jew.
And so what?
Being a Jew doesn't make you a bad guy, but comments like the one you made above sure make you seem like one.
At Ancestry.com, it states that Daniel can be: "Jewish, English, French, German, Polish, and Czech: biblical name." Daniel can be a gentile name as well as a Jewish name, just like David. When we talk about Israel and Palestine, it is pertinent if one is Muslim or Jewish.
I'm so glad Iran into this blog. It's funny that Ahmadinejad says gay people don't exist in his country and over here we think he's crazy. I think his assessment was probably correct.
Thanks to his régime, Iranians are not at all gay and very miserable about life in general.
"Blogger" pray that the bombs will not fall on the Islamic Republic.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors resolution(8/12/02 #021415, Ayes: 11 - Ammiano, Daly, Gonzalez, Hall, Leno, Maxwell, McGoldrick, Newsom, Peskin, Sandoval, Yee
),said what a good guy Ahmadinejad's buddy Hugo Chavez was. Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud are two peas in a pod. The Board never revoked the resolution after Chavez made disparaging remarks about Jews.
There are gays in Iran. Check. Ahmedinijad told a lie. Check. So he lies about the bomb too. hmmm ... check. So let's bomb the hell out of Iran ... erm ... say that again ... bomb who?
Why the hate Sarbo?
Daniel: You avoided or evaded the whole bottom line point there, didn't you?
["When we talk about Israel and Palestine, it is pertinent if one is Muslim or Jewish."]
What about if the one doing the talking, and the one being talked ABOUT, is Neither?
What's 'pertinent' then?
Anyway, are you proposing that English, French, German, Polish, or Czech use of the name "Daniel" is CONTEMPORARY with the Book of Daniel? Or PREDATES it?
That it's use (as well as names like 'David') in those countries isn't a result of the JEWISH roots of the Christian religion common in all the named countries?
Give Me A BREAK!!

PRESS TV reports: A number of Jewish rabbis carrying placards of "I'm a Jew, not a Zionist" have met President Ahmadinejad at his residence in New York.
The senior Jewish rabbi welcomed the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and called the meeting an extraordinary good fortune for the Jewish rabbis.
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's president was misrepresented by Western media when he was quoted saying there were no gays in Iran, and actually meant there were not so many as in the United States, a presidential aide said on Wednesday.
"What Ahmadinejad said was not a political answer. He said that, compared to American society, we don't have many homosexuals," presidential media adviser Mohammad Kalhor said.
Kalhor told Reuters that because of historical, religious and cultural differences homosexuality was less common in Iran and the Islamic world than in the West.
politicians were always 'misrepresented', or 'misinterpreted' when they say something that makes them sound like a fool
some hack they employ for the purpose has to make that clear to the press after everybody's aware of the foolishness that came out of their mouth
Tehran is no different than DC in that regard
