IslamoHorowitzism Awareness Week
Before David Horowitz began warning America about the dangers of communism in the eighties, he spent years fervently celebrating communists during the sixties.
So it's no surprise that before he began warning us all about the dangers of "Islamofascism," he spent years fervently celebrating Islamofascists. Below is a picture of Horowitz from a 1986 Mother Jones profile. As you can see, his t-shirt reads "Support Afghan Freedom Fighters." There's also a sketch of a man holding an assault rifle who looks vaguely like Osama bin Laden.
Currently Horowitz runs the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Look for his angry denunciations of his current dupes and fellow travelers circa 2027.

Jon, may be you are just an anti-Semite. That is a reasonable conclusion from what you state. David supported the Afgan freedom fighters because they were fighting the wicked communists. He is against the Islamofacists(a Michael Savage term) because they are against Israel. His parents were red diaper doper babies and he was too, until he found out what hypocrites they were. Your article is misleading, hence the charge of being an anti-Semite.
Typical response, when there's no logical explanation bring the anti-semite charge.

Shhhhhhh! Don't criticize Ira (or mention his spelling problems!). If you do, you too will putting a beat down on the Semites (also take care not to mention that Arabs are Semitic! That would be antisemitic).
Well, the "freedom fighters" were also against Israel back when Horowitz proudly wore that shirt, but locally, they were busy throwing acid in unveiled women's faces, attacking co-ed (i.e. "commie") schools and the like. And look at the freedom they ultimately secured!
I see that my comment really brought out the anti-Semites.

All: I say give Ira a break. It's people like him, who are always ready to pull out "anti-Semite" no matter how wildly inappropriate the circumstances may be, who are draining the term of its effectiveness as a bludgeon to keep people in line with Israeli policy.
Ira, I do have a practical question for you: yesterday my mailman bent most of the mail he left in the box. Can you explain how that makes him anti-Semitic? I'm sure it does, I'm just not sure how. Thanks!

Horowitz was a big fan of Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden called for and applauded terrorists attacks against Israel. Therefore, David Supported terrorism against Israel.
So by your argument, if you're against terrorism, you're anti-Semite.

It's my experience that when someone claims you're an anti-Semite and then offers an explanation that is not at all an explanation, that person is having a laugh. If it's meant seriously, though, that's not a person you should *take* seriously.
When one criticizes a Jew, like Horowitz, he is suspect of being an anti-Semite. I see that I am a target too. Bring it on, I don't care, but please stop the hate against David.

Not everybody who disagrees with me is an anti-Semite, but more often than not I found that they are. We are the most persecuted of all people. Most people who are anti-Israel are also anti-Semites, at least according to the ADL. Some people are anti-Semites and they do not realize it. I forgive them all.

Ira, the statement "Most people who are anti-Israel are also anti-Semites" might be true. The issue I have with folks like the ADL (and perhaps yourself) is that they are too quick to label anyone who is CRITICAL of Israel as "anti-Israel".
I am Jewish, and I and many of my fellow Jews are critical of Israel's policies. Not because we are "anti-Israel", but because we are PRO Israel and hate to see Israel pursue policies that will only hurt it, and which go against both democratic and Jewish values.
All I needed to know about Ira was said in his first post. It's basically a verbatim quip from none other than Michael Savage. With smarts like that, who needs brains?

From these givens, we can validly reach the following conclusions:
Either all Jews (not to mention Dick Cheney and King George the Least) are idiocy-free, and therefore Super-Human -- in which case David Horowitz is human but not Jewish -- or, the Pope is Catholic (and potentially an idiot), God made little green apples, and bears don't use toilets.
Finally, anyone who disagrees with these conclusions is presumed to be anti-Semitic, with the burden of proof resting on them.
Michael R, may be you are a self loathing Jew(aka as "Jewish Voice for Peace") because you do not support the real Israel of the Likud and as Horowitz envisions, not the cowards vision. May be you have been hanging out too much with the shiksas. Maybe you did not listen to what your mother said about the shiksas.

I've concluded that,after reading over the years about David Horowitz's many transformations, that he doesn't know what he believes in. Check it out. First he's a strong supporter of Israel, then he hates Israel. First he's a supporter of Islam, then he hates Islam. First he's a supporter of Communism, then he hates Communism. David, Please Make Up Your Small Mind. At least for your own good. If nothing else, your mother still loves you!
