Please Please Go Away, Joe Lieberman
If you thought Joe Lieberman would campaign for his traveling buddy John McCain without taking nasty shots at the other candidates in the race... well, think again.
As for Lieberman's argument that McCain "misspoke," consider the fact that McCain made the Iran/al Qaeda gaffe over and over. That's a lot of "misspeaking."
(H/T Jane.)

What a tool.
Joe is the Dick Chaney of McCain. McCain needs Joe, like Bush needs Dick. Sheldon Adelson, $28 billion, 3rd richest man in America, is a Zionist. With that type of money behind Joe and McCain, you know that we will be at war with Iran within 6 months of McCain taking office. (read the Jan/Feb issue). It is interesting that George Soros, a Zionist is on the left, and the Zionist Adelson is on the right. Who dominates American political contributions way out of proportion to their 1% of the population?
Hey People,
I never realized how much anti-semitism there was on the left..? You would think that the KKK were posting on MJ, by some of the anti-jew comments..? Why is the left so filled with hate twords the jewish people..?
Bill
There you go again bill, more unfounded nonsense. Some of those who are anti war have an Israel problem because of what is happening to the Palestinians, but this does not mean that the left is full of racists. In fact all the racists left the Democratic party for the Republicans after the party became deeply involved in civil rights decades ago. Jews in fact trend heavily to the left and have for decades in the US, as of course do African Americans, and most other minority groups. Of course you also assume that the post is from someone on the left and you are living prof that people of all political persuasions can post here, no matter how foolish they are.
Bill, well, well, look who is talking. You need to take to heart what Paul Miller says about you. It is too bad when one is so blind that they can not see themselves.
Hey People,
I will NEVER understand how you people can justify the killing of innocent jewish children blown up by terrorists, by the way the palisinian people are treated. Palisinians refer to a people who occupy a geographic area, not a culture, they are arabs. They have many countries they can call home. the isrealies have only one. They palistinian leadership has kept there people in squalor for 60 yrs, and has made them believe that they will some day "get back" there land. They are as delusional as you people who think you know everything.
Bill
STRASBOURG - European Union lawmakers urged Israel not to inflict "collective punishment" on Gaza's population, saying its isolation of the territory had failed and its actions were endangering civilians.
They urged Israel to lift a blockade which has cut supplies to the 1.5 million people in Gaza, run by the Islamist group Hamas, and let in aid and essential goods and services.
"The policy of isolation of the Gaza strip has failed at both the political and humanitarian level," the European Parliament said in an adopted resolution.
"The civilian population should be exempt from any military action and any collective punishment." "The European Parliament calls on Israel to cease military actions killing and endangering civilians, and extrajudicial targeted killings," The resolution said.
Hey Ishmael,
Maybe if the Palisinian terrorists didn't USE the civilian population to hide behind, then they civilians would stop gettting hit. I think ifi was a palistinian father, and i saw the terrorists setting up rockets in my orchard, i just might think that my family would be in danger, but what you see is the children running around the mortar tubes, having a great time. Maybe if the palistinian parents were not being so neglectful, the families would be safer..?
Bill
Thats more specious and pathetic reasoning bill, you mean 'if middle easterners didn't hate the Jews more than they loved their kids...' blah blah blah. People are people, if any foreigners took land that Americans thought was theirs and they were over powered they may well act just as the Palestinians have, and if they had the power they would probably act as the Israelis are. People dump on each other and try to take an eye for an eye and ignore the cost. The simple fact is that all sides that aren't fundamentalist whack jobs have something to lose in Israel and a solution must be found. Israelis and Palestinians will continue to kill each other while middle eastern tensions will weaken the US. Of course the fundamentalists on all sides (Christian, Muslim, and Jew) will have a recruiting call about the injustices performed by their enemies so the can gather volunteers for their causes as they kill each other and wait in vain for the apocalypse. We need to work together to end this not spout more useless rhetoric that solves nothing and prolongs suffering on both sides.
Mr Z,
I to beleive that something needs to be done. The problem is that they have been talking since i was a kid, i am now 45, and they NEVER seem to be able to solve anything.
The main problem i see is that the arabs who used to live in isreal can't get it throught there thick skulls that they LOST. I have always thought of the analogy of the mexicans thinking that S.California is still there homeland. They LOST the WAR, we took it from them by force, and they figured out that we were NOT giving it back. How long will it take the arabs to come to the same understanding...?
Can you imagine what would happen to mexico if there government acted like the PLO and was trying to get back the territoty they lost in the war...?
Bill
So does your previous empty and insulting rhetoric do any thing but insult people bill? Does continued expansion of settlements into Palestinian territory do any thing but fire the flames and make them want even harder to regain what they've lost? Are you going to convince them to give up by saying whats done is done so get over it? I know the problem won't be solved on a blog, but your empty inflammatory statements do nothing but annoy people and when you do try and make a point its washed away by the other nauseating posts you've made. To me and I suspect most anyone whose paid attention to what you've said your just Bill Nigh the pseudo science idiot guy that tries to provoke everyone with made up facts and false logic.
Mr Z.,
Wait a minute, you didn
t answer one question i put fourth..? I think the reason is taht when people use logic with you, and put fourth and analogy that is perfectly suited to the situation, yuo fall apart. You resort to a dismissive attitude instead of useing your skills of persuasion.
What do you think would happen to mexico if they were doing what the PLO does..? The reason you can't answer is that you KNOW what would happen. Don't you...?
Bill
A new civil court founded in Belgium by human rights organizations will convene and discuss war crimes Israel had allegedly committee during the Second Lebanon War and war crimes the groups claim it is currently committing in the Gaza Strip
Over the past year, human rights groups, in cooperation with Arab and European intellectuals, have been working on establishing the new court, which will be tasked with addressing different issues related to human rights violations and war crimes.
The first matter on the court's agenda will be Israel's operations in the Gaza Strip. Human rights organizations, as well as the victims of these alleged crimes, will appear before the court. The court has also invited Israeli representatives to attend the hearing and respond to the accusations. Steven Edwards, The Ottawa Citizen

UNITED NATIONS - Louise Arbour, the United Nations high commissioner for human rights,( a former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda) has thrown her support behind a major pan-Arab human rights charter that commits to the elimination of Zionism.
In a statement from her Geneva headquarters, the former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda , welcomes the Arab Charter on Human Rights, which will come into force in mid-March.
"Regional systems of promotion and protection can further help strengthen the enjoyment of human rights, and the ... charter is an important step forward in this direction," Ms. Arbour says. The charter's preamble speaks of "rejecting all forms of racism and Zionism," alleging they violate human rights and threaten international peace and security.
Article 2 of the 53-article document says "all forms of racism, Zionism and foreign occupation and domination" should be "condemned and efforts must be deployed for their elimination."
Real progressives support the UN.
Yes bill I know that we'd start knocking them around the way the Israelis do to the Palestinians, hell look at my other post I said as much before you did. You on the other hand make wild claims elsewhere on the site about how muck thicker the ice in the arctic is and how global warming doesn't exist, and you have no response when I tell you where to look for pictures from NASA that show how the ice there has been retreating. I proved my point with a verified fact on the blue marble blog and made your point before you did on this one, you on the other hand offer wild claims and speculative reasoning.
I think Bill and Mike should Get A Room! If they strike as much spark's in the bedroom as they do on a internet blog, their going to come together like a couple run-away Locomotives. Admit it, Your in Love, and all the slapping's going to lead to soulful kissing.
I think Bill might be a self loathing closet homosexual, its a common affliction among right wingers who bash gays. I for one am not into that sort of thing, but even if I were a relationship with a guy like bill or J. Edgar Hoover would be pretty messed up, probably like if Hitler secretly dated a Jew while hating himself and his special someone for being Jews.

Jewish Identity Can't Depend on Violence
Jewish identity in the past has been locked into the holocaust experience -- a German burden that the Jews have not been able to shed. It is a very good example of a community that can overplay a historic experience to the point that it begins to repulse friends. The holocaust was the result of the warped mind of an individual who was able to influence his followers into doing something dreadful. But, it seems to me that the Jews today not only want the Germans to feel guilty but the whole world must regret what happened to the Jews. The world did feel sorry for the episode but when an individual or a nation refuses to forgive and move on the regret turns into anger.
The Jewish identity in the future appears bleak. Any nation that remains anchored to the past is unable to move ahead and, especially a nation that believes its survival can only be ensured by weapons and bombs. In Tel Aviv in 2004 I had the opportunity to speak to some Members of Parliament and Peace activists all of whom argued that the wall and the military build-up was necessary to protect the nation and the people. In other words, I asked, you believe that you can create a snake pit -- with many deadly snakes in it -- and expect to live in the pit secure and alive? What do you mean? they countered. Well, with your superior weapons and armaments and your attitude towards your neighbors would it not be right to say that you are creating a snake pit? How can anyone live peacefully in such an atmosphere? Would it not be better to befriend those who hate you? Can you not reach out and share your technological advancement with your neighbors and build a relationship?
Apparently, in the modern world, so determined to live by the bomb, this is an alien concept. You don't befriend anyone, you dominate them. We have created a culture of violence (Israel and the Jews are the biggest players) and that Culture of Violence is eventually going to destroy humanity.(Arun Gandhi is the fifth grandson of India's legendary leader, Mohandas K. "Mahatma" Gandhi. He is president and co-founder of the M. K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, now at the University of Rochester in New York)
Hey People,
It is soooo funny when the sensative types begin to feel halted by logic and truth, they revert to college fraternity behavior. Calling the other guy a fag worked in those days, but i think we are a little past that.. hahaha ...
When you say:
Yes bill I know that we'd start knocking them around the way the Israelis do to the Palestinians,
Are you for real...? do you think that if our home soil was attacked, like the palastinians do to the jews on a weekly basis, That our government would show the restraint of the jews..? If the USA had rockets and mortars raining down from another country, do you think we would sit idle, as the jews do..?
I have paid attention to this issue from a young age, and have never understood how someone can not appreciate the restraint that the jewish peole have shown.
Now it seems to be acceptable, at officeal U.N. levels, that the jewish state is fair game for destruction.
Bill
Bill Nigh, Europe, the UN and the rest of the world, are not on the same side as the US in their blind support of the apartheid state.
Hey bill guess what, I am in college you idiot! As for the gay thing I work with what I'm given, a string of unusual happenings involving Republicans and their fundamentalist backers, along with an idiotic comment by someone named ZoroRoaster. It also seems to me that those who are most ashamed of their urges lash out at others like themselves, and you often seem like a bigot to me. I'm not going to debate you on how much restraint the Israelis show in comparison to what the US would do in a similar situation; however, given how things have progressed few countries would want the kind of national shame that would come with the kind of reaction you seem to be talking about and wouldn't be apt to commit acts of genocide the way people used to do. People are nasty though bill, and your one way view of things isn't helping. The Israelis and Palestinians have both committed terrible acts, and both need to find a way past their lower nature. One more question bill... do pauses at the end of sentences make you feel smarter...? I think they're a cheap ploy!
We need to remember why the senator is prominent. Gore selected this senator because he was the only democract who spoke against Clinton's misbehaviors while in the White house. Gore was trying to insulate himself from Clinton's lies. If Clinton had not lied nor misbehaved, Gore would never have chose Liberman to be his VP. whatever problem Liberman poses to Obama or any democrat, remember it leads to President Clinton lies
