Palin Confuses on Proper Direction of Campaign
Sarah Palin on October 5, suggesting to Bill Kristol that the McCain campaign ought to go more negative:
"To tell you the truth, Bill, I don't know why [the Revered Wright] association isn't discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don't know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn't get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up."
Sarah Palin on Sunday, telling the press that she wants to focus on the issues:
"If I called all the shots, and if I could wave a magic wand, I would be sitting at a kitchen table with more and more Americans, talking to them about our plan to get the economy back on track and winning the war, and not having to rely on the old conventional ways of campaigning that includes those robocalls, and includes spending so much money on the television ads that, I think, is kind of draining out there in terms of Americans' attention span."
Those robocalls she's denouncing as "conventional ways of campaigning" are exactly the sort of negative, association-based campaign tactics she was urging just two weeks ago. It's almost as if her complete lack of experience on the national stage forces her to make it up as she goes along!
Want an honest disucssion of the issues and specific solutions. Then you have to go below the media radar screen to the Ralph Nader campaign. When will progressives ever learn?
Sarah Palin has finally found her best milieu, it's not politics, its comedy. SNL should hire her to spout her own ridiculous comments instead of having Tina Fey parady her.
The woman is an ambitious b--ch. She will say or do anything to get what she wants - like McCain. However, it is not going to work. So the question really is: What is Sarah going to do after her defeat on November 4th?
Any you Nader-ites need to understand that the US is NEVER going to have three parties in the sense you hope for. You need to get into the Democratic party and move them left.

Write a book, get a radio talk show, land a spot on Fox News? Probably a combination of any or all of the three. What does ANY candidate do after they've lost an election? Make more money than they would have had they won.
Please, no third party candidates. Nader is a great guy and has done a world of good in this country. Don't get me wrong; I would like to see candidates from other parties or independents win seats in Congress, but this presidential election is too important to vote for Nader.
Obama/Biden '08!
To say that Palin "breathed life" into the McCain campaign is an understatement. Her candidacy would make fodder for a great daytime soap opera. Why do people say that she "breathed life" into McCain's campaign, anyway? Was it dead?
Also, why is she bringing up the Rev. Wright to Kristol and in the same breath saying that it's McCain's call whether to resurrect Wright (pun intended) or not? Is she questioning McCain's judgement? Is McCain terrified of the media delving further into her "holy roller" affiliation?
If Sarah Palin believes what her church preaches, she believes that civilization as we know it today will be ended in less than two decades and God's Army will have taken over the entire world. That means that she would have no interest in improving education, the infrastructure, the environment, or anything else that isn't religiously motivated. If she doesn't believe what her church teaches, then why is she in it? Either way, Sarah Palin in power isn't a pretty picture.
Sarah Palin is one all too real symptom of the decline of America. That this individual could be placed in the position of a potential presidency should McCain win the election is as close to treason as one can get with the exception of accepting input from the Neo-con cabal, which is downright treasonous. Is it at all surprising how the neo-cons have flocked to Palin as their idiot watch, the same one that immediately recognized George W. Bush as a potential tool, saw the grand opportunity she presented?
I really have a difficult time understanding the contrarian streak in this country that reveres abject ignorance, arrogance as a substitute for thought, and reptilian cunning, a nervous system without a brain.
That said, does any of this matter or is it just a matter of time? Could any serious democracy have nominated this individual for this position? Like Dan Quayle, she is a laughing stock, but no one even dared to imagine Quayle as President. And so, in spite of all of this, a third (and a fourth) party is unthinkable to Americans? Despite all of the incredible damage the two ruling parties have visited on this nation, serious consideration to alternatives is "not on the table." Those citizens of real democracies around the world must be laughing their asses off. Or digging bomb shelters.

Governor Sarah Palin of the great State of Alaska-How many of the critics on this sheet can say that they have accomplished a Governorship?For that matter, Ralph Nader seems to be cashing in on his ability to split Democratic Party Votes-Could he conceivably be a Republican Party Pawn? Dan Quayle is a laughing stock but ran as Vice-President of the United States! Give me a break people, most of these people have outstanding records of service to their Nation and actually expose themselves to the ridicule and abuse just to get a few votes and a chance to serve their Country-Joe Biden made the interesting observation when he was really cutting into one of his peers in the Senate-a friend came up and told him the man had cancerand that he should only question a person's judgement-not their motives (Circa the vice-presidential debate)! Did you ever stop to think that our acceptance of all the garbage coming out of the campaigns is the reason for the garbage! What is really strange is that the meters registering viewer feeling always drops when a candidate starts belittling his or her opponent but it seems to all be a part of the game! The human race is really a messed up bunch!

Somebody has to be the damned grownup. As positive as Nader could possibly be for the country, he has no shot of winning the election. Your idealism is admirable, but somewhat adolescent at this particular stage of the game.
Further,
Those that stubbornly stuck to their guns on third party candidates had a big hand in setting us back on vital issues for the past eight years. Think.
Sarah Palin is a grifter. Period. Amen. Now...what are we going to do next? And what are we going to do if the fix is in?
