John Ensign's Interns Pack It In

No word on when or whether we'll get an Ensign resign, but yesterday the hypocritical Senator left his post as the chair of the Republican Policy Committee, so are they packing up boxes at the HQ? A couple of hours ago, this tidbit on Roll Call:

In an e-mail sent to intern coordinators in Senate offices on Thursday afternoon, Ensign’s coordinator Jessica Walton said she is looking to place an unspecified number of the Nevada Republican’s interns in other offices. “This is Jessica from Ensign’s office. I am trying to find out if anyone has any openings for interns. I have some really great interns that want to relocate to another office. If you have anything or know of someone who does please let me know,” Walton wrote in the e-mail.

Clearing out the committee worker bees? Calling it quits altogether? Interns begging for another name for the resume? Whatever, hey interns: We're hiring! Join our scandal-free DC bureau and investigate Senators for a living; we promise not to let you down.

Ensign

Here's a story idea: How many U.S. Reps and Senators who voted for the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act have been caught in extramarital hanky-panky? Ensign, Vitter, Edwards(?) Clinton signed it. Any others?

Ensign

I live in Las Vegas and I can't stand Ensign. It's a great day for America that Ensign will not be running for President now. He's another right wing conservative with the same old worn out don't tax the rich and keep the poor poorer. Maybe there really is a God after all.

Preaching more offensive Rev. Wright's !

It's amazing to me that David Vitter can be caught patronizing prostitutes in New Orleans and DC, and still be politically viable, despite his behavior that belies everything in his loudly trumpeted principles. The same goes for Ensign, who has preached a superior morality to the rest of the world. John Edwards' tragic fall from grace might not have been so bad had it not been for Elizabeth's cancer: at least he didn't preach to us.

Do you think there's any hanky-panky going on in the Supreme Court, aside from that old roué, Justice Scalia? ;-) What about that pubic hair in Anita Hill's coca cola?

God save us from any more dalliance in the Executive. Looks to me as if Michelle has things under control. And if VP Biden strayed, I'm pretty sure he couldn't keep himself from telling Jill about it.

Horny politicians are with us today, were yesterday, and will be tomorrow. Just don't let them preach to me or anyone else! We probably would be better off regarding their sexual transgressions as humorous asides, irrelevant to the pressing issues that concern us all. Many if not all of us have done stupid things in this arena, and it's awfully hard to keep such matters private anymore.

Do you believe that there is a Right to Privacy buried somewhere in our Constitution? If so maybe our next Constitutional Amendment should protect our sexual lapses from disclosure; now *that's* a bipartisan concern if there ever were one.

Written in jest ... mostly. 8D
