VIDEO: There's No Recovery Here
Big Finance may be breathing a sigh of relief these days, but what about the rest of the country? With foreclosures at a record high and the national unemployment rate at 9.8 percent, I went to talk with some of the people still waiting for their recovery, their bailout, at a massive homeowner relief event in the San Francisco Bay Area. Organized by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, the "Save the Dream" tour offers many people a last-gasp hope at saving their homes—and for many, their American Dream.

Their bailout? People made
Their bailout? People made the mistake and watched too much crap on TV and
consumed it with other media. There was some kind of serious self-betrayal and
complacency involved. The media by and large and large presented themselves as
the all-caring institution, strongly suggesting that they would fix all and everything
just in case something happened. All people had to do was was watching TV and
consume lots of other media and everything would be taken care of. Thus people
could feel really save and secure, particularly financially and economically. The media
kind of guaranteed that.
And are only now learning it the hard way that they are entirely on their own, there
is no such big media that provide such safety. No need to turn to media, they are
making it known now that they are deep sh*t themselves and keep surely
unexpected hanging on publicly to anyone for money. (Like Murdoch, who is
obviously expected another bad Q-report, not tiring with his message You pay!
which he keeps repeating and repeating all over the place.)
That's the one big lesson so far.
For a critical reflection about the merits and benefits watching TV for instance,
the bunch of financial pundits in that flashback provide a good idea of what it
really means when people in the media have the ambition to change the life of
people, a missionary zeal often heard and supposed to be a holy purpose:

The media is like a lapsed whore. Nobody wants it, nobody respects it but everyone uses it. I said this before and I say it again.
False Security
I definitely believe that the Obama administration has given people a false sense of security, and htey have had people thinking that they are going to get bailed out. It all started with Obama's false message of "Change"
