<p>Three generations of the Manasra family sit together and eat breakfast. Like most of Wadi Fukin, the Manasra family used to make their living off of farming. Now the 11-member extended family lives entirely off the wages earned by the men who work construction jobs in Israel or in nearby settlements. To do these jobs, the men must have permits, which are hard to find. Working without a permit means risking being jailed by the Israelis. Altogether, the family usually lives on about 6,000 shekels a month, or a little over $1,300.</p>
