It always amazes me that some people consider McCain a moderate. All anyone has to do is look at his voting record to see that he is about as right-wing as you can get. And the admiration for his "independence" is just as questionable, since he shows his brand of "courage" when it tends to be convenient for him.

I believe he (McCain) said the same thing in an interview on one of the "Sunday Babbling Head" shows.

Unfortunately, his true convictions (or lack thereof) came out in his answer. His addition of the "rape, incest, and life of the mother" addendum to his statement sounded (looked) like an old rug thrown onto the back stairs to cover up a crack in the cement.

Truly, Diane's comment caught the essence of this man.

Perhaps the best statement he ever made was in denying his "hero" status when he said, "All I did was get shot down".

For that brief, long- gone moment, one could see his humanity.

But, since the "Bush Kiss and Hug" (after having himself, his wife, and most importantly- his child burned by that man's minions), since the review of his voting record, since his call for more forces in Iraq as though that was a solution, one can only deduce that he has gone over the deep end and should not be trusted as he seems to want power entirely too much.
