Feinstein wasn't briefed on the bank monitoring program
(Via Think Progress.) California' s Sen. Diane Feinstein, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told George Stephanopoulous on ABC that, contrary to administration assurances that Congress was briefed on the government program that monitors bank records, she wasn’t told about it until after word got out the New York Times was publishing the story. See the video.

"Way to go" helping terrorists???
Posted by: Victor Anderson on 07/05/06 at 8:24 AM
I hardly think the NY Times was helping terrorists, unless we are talking about the ones in the us government. Everybody that read any newspapers since 9/11 knew the government was tracking money this way. What I never knew reading newspapers was that Valerie Plane was an undercover CIA person, that is until a certain person named Novak printed that. I did not here the hue and cry about that from congress and the president. Can we all say double standard?

"Everybody that read any newspapers since 9/11 knew the government was tracking money this way." Except, apparently, for Ms Feinstein.

Ah...yes.
Someone please tell me why Mr. Murtha and the ranking Democrat on the 9/11 commision, Mr. Hamilton, BOTH went to the NY Times and asked them NOT to print their story.
Are THEY both part of this "secretive" Administration.
Note to readers: Latest Pew Research Poll show 65% of those asked said the NY Times was dead wrong to print their story, and that is helped the terrorists.
Way to go NY Times!!!!!
I'm voting Feingold in '08.
