It's more than that---
Yes the rethugs do use sex innuendo to smear Dems. But it is even more than that, by which I mean that the repubs, catholic church, the pope and the SBC(white southern Baptists) are absolutely, themselves, obsessed about sex.
Sex is something that should/must be left in the bedroom because it is a personal and intimate event.
But the repubs are absolutly obsessed about sex as they just cannot seem to stop talking about it. Why are the catholic/SBC repubs so completely preoccupied with sex, a never ending favorite topic with these people. Me thinks they protesteth to much.
Do these people hate sex, a conversion hysteria reaction. Or are they so obsessed with it because it is always at the forefront of their minds. These people are totally juvenile, they never seem to get past their middle/high school juvenile and puerile sex fantasies.

These groups have been fighting aganist sex and sex education for generations. Just exactly what is their problem.

God gave us sex, why do they hate it so much. They are all like giggling little 12yr olds who are embarrassed and therefore crippled in their understanding about sex, but at some point in time maturity should set in and yet it never does with these white southerners. They must still be back in the more puritan eras or at least back in the early days of the previous century.
Sex allows for a bonding between man and women in the early years of marriage until deeper bonds develop over the years.

Well maybe thats it the pope and priests are celibate, get no 'sexual release' therefore it is always at the forefront of their thinking.
While the white southerners have their endemic cultural mores which they are locked into from the days of the puritans.

Both of these groups should get over it. Just look at Newt Gingrich, he of the moral majority, his sexual repression as caused a sexual backlash and revolution within him to the point that he can be called an example of warped sexual behaviors. His multiple sexual activities would seem to indicate that he is still sexually juvenile and is still ecperimenting just as teens are wont to do.
These people who grow up, like southerners, in a culture of strong actually repressive sexual mores are actually scarred for life. Maybe that is why white southerners are so sexually repressed and so often guilty of sexual crimes, beginning with family incest and continuing possiby throughout their lives and passed on to their children.
Maybe their seeming and almost orgasmic obsession with religion where they go into religious ecstacy is a warped manifestation due their culturally induced and heavy handed sexual repressions. ie. Sex is such a forbidden element in their lives that it manifests in wierd ways and throughout their entire lives as they seek forever to understand that which they most likely never will due to their childhood sexual repressions.
Do these people never grow up and get past their sexual obsessions??? Only time will tell.
