Michael Crichton Hits Below the Belt

A few weeks ago, I noted that global-warming denier and airport-gift shop supplier Michael Crichton had dissed Mother Jones in his latest tome. Now it looks like we got off easy. Michael Crighton was educated at Harvard University (summa cum laude) and went on to become the Henry Russell Shaw Travelling Fellow, before graduating from Harvard Medical School. In '88 he was visiting writer at MIT.
Though standing at 6'9", Crighton is a midget in his social conscience.
Consider how Crighton's written that, contrary to alarms of global warming, the Sahara Desert is becoming greener...
Oh sure--after an incredible twenty year drought came to an end!!!
Now compare and contrast how Sanjay Basu, a senior at MIT, won a Harry S. Truman Scholarship in recognition of his humanitarian committment--he founded United Trauma Relief to combat AIDS in poor countries--before recently winning a Rhodes Scholarship.

"Today the European Parliament passed one of the most comprehensive and far-reaching EU regulations in its histroy, a set of environmental rules that will hold companies liable for the HEALTH EFFECTS of some 30,000 substances used in everything from computers to laundry detergent," MoJoBlog, The Muscles from Brussels.
So.. you know, what I'm asking is, how did you end up on the wrong side of the street--what's the story Michael...?
