What Would Jeb Do?
A really good examination of (1) how Jeb Bush would have made a different Commander-in-Chief than his brother these past six years, and (2) whether or not Jeb has legitimate national prospects, from the Washington Post today. Check it out.

I can appreciate that Jeb's record handling hurricanes means he would handle a disaster better than W handled Katrina. I can appreciate that he is more into the details of policy. However, he shows himself truly a Bush when he claims his upper class tax cuts produce lots of job growth when his record is the lowest growth since 1971, and when he claims his vouchers program produced better results for those students while simultaneously refusing to release the test scores. Left out of the article is that he was the primary reason Terri Shiavo became a national issue, and that he ran the state government when the electoral system got so screwed up. If he's smarter than his brother, that might actually be a bad thing -- he'll better implement bad policies and better cover up malfeasance.

Eric, you make good points. Jeb's brother must have told him they wanted to get a bad bill passed to limit care to poor folks, but they need a smoke screen, so Jeb came up with the Shiavo case which worked real good, not many got the point of that bill. Of course, they would like to keep it all in the family! My bet is that they will appoint Condi to replace GW.

I think you should ask the people of Florida what they think.....they have been subjected to him daily! Personally, anyone with the name Bush is a definite no go as far as I'm concerned. I've had quite enough of this family.
