Republicans Say Pelosi's New Blog Violates Copyright Laws
As Jonathan writes today, Nancy Pelosi's new blog, "The Gavel," is "a boon to C-SPAN junkies who can't watch TV during work hours." Just think, more accessible wonk, and first-hand. Well, some are less excited than others. DailyKos has the press release that the Republican Study Committee spammed the media with today. "The RSC spoke with C-SPAN today, who confirmed that these videos violate C-SPAN copyright/trademark of the House proceedings." I'm not sure I would expect anything less from the far right wing of the party. Stay tuned. I'm sure there's more to come.

Her show should be called, "My giant gas guzzling air force jet I ride around in while preaching environmentalism."

Pokey Mon, that would be true if were, uh, true. She asked specifically for a small plane, NOT a gas-guzzler. The only gas being consumed is that coming out of the mouths of uninformed talking heads.

Hey, you got to admit it's a little funny. She wanted a bigger plane so she would not have to stop and refuel. Don't get me wrong- I'm glad the Dems are running Congress. You have to have a sense of humor about it... It is kind of funny to hear these politicians preach about alternative energy and yet fly on enormous private jets. Sorry, 1 person and their staff do not need an entire 757- make the refueling stop and use a smaller jet is all I am saying. Sorry Diane, it's a true news story- no Fox News wasn't the only one reporting on this one... Shouldn't Pelosi be flying around in a biodeisel / patchouli oil turbo hemp powered parachute???

Remember TERRI SCHIAVO? Little Georige hopped on hims Air Force One and flew up to D.C. to sign a quickie bill into law about peopole like her. And then hopped back in Air Force One and few all da way back to Quawferd.
No one seems to have stopped to add up the cost of that little jaunt. Seems if you do, you'd find that if they'd taken the money Georgie spent on that little hop they could have kept Terri on lifesupport for a few more years.
Go figure....

Pelosi's office denies she ever asked for a jet that size. Pelosi herself has denied it. What she asked for was something bigger than originally planned, yes, but not what the media is reporting.

RSC Got it Wrong On Pelosi Video Affair
Here’s the latest in this one-day tempest. Pretty embarrassing. I hope the RSC will focus on policy matters in its future attacks.
UPDATE: C-SPAN Copyright/Trademark of House Proceedings
Earlier today, the Republican Study Committee (RSC) released a document about the Speaker’s use of copyrighted/trademarked C-SPAN material on a Congressional website. The document was based upon a conversation that RSC staff had with Barry Katz, the Manager of C-SPAN Video Assets (and the employee identified as being directly responsible for answering questions to Congress about the use of C-SPAN material).
Bruce Collins, the Corporate Vice President and General Counsel of C-SPAN, called post release and said that the information provided by the C-SPAN employee to the RSC was incorrect.
Given this contradictory information, the RSC wanted to be the first set the record straight and withdraw the information included in the release.
