More on the KSM Confessions
In addition to Jonathan's post below, there are other reasons to think something is fishy with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's confessions. Kyle Hence at the 9/11 Citizens Watch puts it this way: "For a number of reasons I am just not buying this so-called confession by KSM. Why can't we hear the audio of the so-called confessions? And why is it no one in the media or general public, not a single person, has a seen but two photos of this man and not a single clip of video? Think about it. It's been three years since his capture and we have only two photos of the man whose story was at the core of the 9/11 Commission Report. Why are there no cameras, even military ones, in the tribunal courtroom? Were there no photographers, even military photographers, on the flight that transferred him to Guantanamo? What national security concerns could possibly nix cameras or digital audio recorders from documenting the professed 'mastermind' of the worst terrorist attack in history?"

Sounds like it's up to us liberal progressives to free Mr. KSM since he was treated fairly under our legal system. It's obvious the Bush Administration was behind all the attacks as a pretext for war and KSM was simply the scapegoat. It's a sad day that a fighter against American Imperialism has been framed. I'll be chaining myself to Bush's ranch in Crawford to protest.
I think focusing on the actual charges is missing the larger point.
There are few arguing this guy should is a saint. The argument lies in what you belive is proper retribution by a nation against a terrorist, ie death or jail for life. Unfortunately for him, a proper legal proceeding is never going to happen.
But the larger point here is the TIMING of the information. As the poster mentioned we have held this guy for 3 years without contact to the outside world. And the administration, who has complete control over where and when this information was released to the press, wants us to believe that it is a mere coincidence that this information hit the airwaves the same day of what I believe is their largest scandal.
Without evening tackling all the arguments for why a) the information is shaky at best and b) what happens to this guy.
the more important issue is that the Administration has been sitting on this and released it just as the Alberton Gonzales scandal broke.

Well to me, looking at the photo that they released, he looks drugged, and beaten. After three years of 'intense interrogation techniques' it doesn't surprise me in the least that he has confessed to this laundry list of crimes. I'd bet that he'd even confess to the murder of Jimmy Hoffa. And I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one who killed Cock Robin. In other words, would it surprise anyone if he would confess to anything they want him to? Esp., as has been pointed out, when the only way we know anything is through government released transcripts.

Of course, the guy speaks great Arabic, too bad we don't have a lot of fluent Arabic speakers.

Anyone that believes any statements released by the fascist administration or even listens to the propaganda are brainwashed ignorant fools for considering the validity.

By that standard, Stupid Joe Public, for posting you must be at least dumb. However, in sentiment, I agree with you and several others on this board - skepticism should be our policy on all government actions and extreme skepticism regarding this particular administration. They have proven themselves again and again to have zero ethics.
A couple of years ago, I would have thought the bogus confession would be used to argue the 'we are making progress against terrorism' line, but now it seems to be just floating. However, I don't listen to the usual suspects regarding media outlets, so perhaps I have missed the spin on this.
