U.S. Response to Saudi Statements on Iraq: "What You Talking About, Abdullah?"

Yesterday I wrote about King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia's statement that the U.S. occupation of Iraq is "illegal." Thankfully, the Bush Administration is responding with sensitivity and a deft touch, seeking out our ruffled ally and finding out exactly what irks him. We've decided that as yet another friend turns his back on our foreign policy, it is high time to look in the mirror and question whether we're on the right path.

Wait, that's not what's happening at all.

"It is not accurate to say that the United States is occupying Iraq," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

Oh. Well, then. That'll sort things out. Carry on with the apocalypse.

May I use an Internet acronym?

ROTFLOL

Austin, sweetheart, educate me. What does that mean?

Paul: In case Austin does not return to this entry, here's a list of geek translations into English. I am a geek, so I mean no insult.

LOL: Laughing Out Loud
ROFL: Rolling On the Floor Laughing
ROFLMAO: ROFL My Ass Off
ROTFLOL: Rolling On The Floor Laughing Out Loud (haven't seen this particular combination before)

This should make other combinations relatively easy to figure out.

Oh, and that last sentence made me LOL too.

Thanks, Misanthropic Scott. I knew LOL but would not have made the other connections. Perhaps my somewhat reserved nature, but I have not been moved to ROFL by any of the posts here or elsewhere. More the kind to give a DC or a LSG [dry chuckle or lop-sided grin].
