Kos-Heads Love them Some Gore

The wonky white guys over at the Daily Kos go coo-coo for Al Gore! A poll measuring readers' interest in a Gore presidential bid comes back with 50 percent saying either "I would abandon my current favorite, go strong for Gore" or "I don't have a current favorite, I've been waiting for Gore this whole time." The next most popular answer, with 13 percent, is "I would stay with my current favorite, but consider Gore."

Hard to say if these political junkies are representative, but if I were Gore, I'd be dusting off the Weight Watchers literature. Just sayin'.

I feel like the only liberal who absolutely does NOT want Gore in the race.

My interest in John Edwards is seriously beginning to wane as the days go by. Edwards has been the only candidate speaking of poverty and other domestic issues, but....his personal baggage is becoming heavier than Gore's, and his vote on the Iraq "war" remains disturbing. Gore has already won the White House once (2000), I'm thinking he can do it again.

I don't have my mind made up about any candidate yet, including Edwards and Gore, and I'm not a Kossack. But as someone who reads both blogs, I would like to say that the snide digs about wonky white guys and Weight Watchers are immature and do nothing to promote the values that Mother Jones claims to support.

What is this, Fox News?

It is soooo strange that so many of your readers keep refering to Gore as the Winner in 2000...? I think that they forget that this country is directed by the Constitution, and not by the LIBERAL nuts who have this fantasy that the Electoral College does not exists..? This is the very reason that the Founding Fathers put this section in. To keep the Elite fringe from over-running the solid american center..;-) Strange, VERY STRANGE..>!!!

I have an actual life and a very business work schedule so I don't have time to waste looking at blogs (other than MoJo because they need my readership, I think only about 10 people actual read this).

I don't read Daily Krap as it is boring, mental masterbation for the hard left.

@ TIM

I don't think the folks "who keep saying Gore won in 2000" are referring to Gore winning the popular vote (and thereby ignoring the electoral college). I'm pretty sure they believe that Gore would have won the electoral college had the Supreme Court not stopped the Florida recount or if Katherine Harris had done a statewide recount as apparently required by Florida law. I think that is what they mean.

Just FYI. Don't know whether that makes them seem more or less "nuts" to you.

If Gore couldn't do anything significant for the environment in 8 years as VP, what's he going to really do as Pres? Zero.
