Title 9 is great, now women make up 60% of the college enrollment, and men only 40%. I guess some of the women will have to marry a redneck like me or an old man or each other. Title 9 is a great success. Without Title 9 I would not have an opportunity to marry a college women. I personally think that Title 9 is great.

Women still make .75 to every $1.00 a man makes. As the cost of living increases, you'll need to be looking for work soon enough. Too bad all you'll be qualified for is a minimum wage job!

Title IX regulations not only extend to colleges, but to public K-12 schools that accept federal funds as well. Gender bias (or gender inequity) towards students still exists at the K-12 level. This is apparent by who gets referred for learning disabilities, and who doesn't, and the reasons for such referrals.

Socially constructed norms of behavior for boys and girls are reinforced by teachers when loud and disruptive (over-active) boys are given more attention in class than quiet girls. Girls are doing what they are told, yet are often most often ignored by their teachers. When some invisible line is crossed in the teacher's ability to cope with the disruption, boys are often finally referred out of class to be assessed for learning disabilities.

What's wrong with this picture? Many things come to mind. Importantly, girls are being ignored in classrooms, and the socially constructed norm of "girls are expected to be nice, quiet, and to sit still," is being reinforced to girls' detriment. Boys are behaving in a socially acceptable manner (for boys), and are initially positively reinforced for it, but end up being punished by the referral. Some boys may have attention-hyperactivity issues, but not all who are referred actually do. Girls who are left in class and ignored may indeed have attention-deficit problems that do require assessment.

Educators need to learn appropriate guidelines for learning disability referral. More importantly, educators must become aware of gender bias within themselves, and learn how to change it so that children are not adversely affected in learning environments.

We can't know who actually has learning disabilities if we continue to ignore half the school population. That's putting it simply.

Bottom line, after all is said and done, 60% of college students are female. Males are in the minority due to latent discrimination. The females will have to marry goobers like me. This is great.

Has anyone ever figgered out that one of the reasons for declining wages is that women are entering far more fields mostly occupied by men? If those in charge determine values for work and they don't value women then it stands to reason that where women excel the earnings will go down.

Employers pay the lowest wage possible(regardless of gender, race, and creed). They will hire a Mexican over a white female. If the Mexican is too expensive, then the job goes to China. Stop your complaining, or the job will go to China or India. They can do the job that you can do for 10% of the cost. There is no EEOC and regulation overseas. If that is not the solution, then with the H-1a visa, we can bring them over here and work for cheap. Just get use to it, the USA will soon be a third world country due to globalism.

The Supreme Court today, 5 to 4 did away with affirmative action in the schools. Title IX is next on the list of deconstructing American society.
