Giuliani Exposed: Terrorism Record Based on Lies
Wayne Barrett's Village Voice article titled "Rudy Giuliani's Five Big Lies About 9/11" ought to be required reading for anyone thinking about the GOP presidential primary.
Here are the facts: Giuliani focused little on terrorism while mayor of New York in advance of 9/11, failed to prepare the city for an attack in any significant way, prioritized his petty personal needs over the advice of experts when constructing an emergency response command center, and didn't supply first-responders with the equipment they needed — all of these facts from Barrett's article are supported by former Giuliani aides and members of his NYC administration. More importantly, all of these facts directly contradict the strongest-on-terrorism image Giuliani presents on the campaign trail. Terrorism is Giuliani's "best" issue, and he consistently lies about his record.
Barrett's article is a portrait of a man willing to accept illegitimate praise and eager to spread legitimate blame. As Barrett writes, "naked revisionism" is the name of Giuliani's game. Have a read.

Then Mr. Giuliani did not have the experience to be mayor of such a large metropolis therefore, I wonder if he has the experience to take on the presidency now. Everyone was stunned when it happened. I watched the planes plow into the World Trade Center on T.V. in California and I was frozen and stunned. I just stood there, watching, with my mouth hung open. I could not believe that someone was attacking America. I am sure those at and near Ground Zero were worse off and dazed, reaction times were delayed. Leadership entails taking the bull by the horns and acting immediately...calmly. Remember though, the mayor is just one person who is leading various departments and two or more heads are better than one.
Therefore, team work is essential especially in this kind of situation. Do not forget, no one was prepared for this kind of strike and in the aftermath, security and preparation took on a whole new look. I will say that I remember that Mr. Giuliani's projected image was that of a hero. BUT, there were thousands of heroes that day, many did not live. As a president, and a leader, that position should never forget that team work is extremely important and, again, two or more heads are better than one.

If Rudy Guiliani made such great decisions he would have been in the Disaster Command Center instead of fleeing from it like a dictator fleeing before the angry masses, and the firefighters would have had the new radios they requested THE FIRST TIME THE WORLD TRADE CENTER WAS BOMBED 8 YEARS BEFORE!
Maybe I'm just cynical, but I'd bet my last dollar that the command center was located in the WTC because Rudy Guiliani's good friend was in charge of leasing the space.
BTW, if Rudy was so committed to the victims of the Al-Queda terrorists and their survivors he would not have reneiged on his committment to the 9/11 Commission in favor of doing an extremely lucrative speaking tour. Once again personal gain takes precedence over public interest/safety.

Intel people in the trenches were sounding alarms well in advance of 9/11. There was a fictional book out in early 90s about flying planes into the towers. To tell anyone that the dots could not be connected!!!!!!!!! Of course post 9/11 brought the {un}patriot act and many more.

Either Rudy didn't bother to read the 9-11 commission report, or he lied about never having heard of the "blowback" effect of our mid-east foreign policy.
Bad either way, from somebody makes his national reputation as the 9-11 guy, and who wants to sit in the oval office.
Ron Paul correctly nailed his ass on this one.
