White House Advisor Appears to Taunt Bin Laden
Speaking on Fox News Sunday about the latest Osama bin Laden video, White House Homeland Security advisor Frances Fragos Townsend told host Chris Wallace:
"Remember, the last audiotape was in June of '06. The last video was just before the election in October of '04. This is about the best he can do. This is a man on the run from a cave who is virtually impotent other than these tapes."
And in case one thought the "impotent" comment might have been a slip made by an administration operative feeling defensive for failing to get the chief perpetrator of the 9/11 attacks, Townsend said it again on CNN Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer. Townsend:
"But you know, we ought to remember, six years since the tragedy of September the 11th, we haven't seen another attack. This is a man on the run in a cave who is virtually impotent other than his ability to get these messages out. It's propaganda."
While the White House effort to reassure rather than frighten people is refreshing, and it understandably feels compelled to make excuses for why it has failed to devote the resources necessary to capture bin Laden, Townsend's macho rhetoric seems strikingly ill advised and eerily reminiscent of Bush's infamous "Bring 'em on." More than 3,000 US lives have been lost to the insurgency and civil war in Iraq since his reckless comments. Let's hope Townsend's words don't come back to haunt her -- and us -- in a similar fashion.

WHY DO THESE FAR RIGHT REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEEL THE NEED TO ACT IN SUCH A MANNER SO AS TO SUGGEST THAT THEIR NIGHT JOB IS THAT OF A BAD ASS DOMINATRIX? WHY WOULD SHE CALL BIN LADEN "IMPOTENT" (NO LONGER A REAL MAN)? ARE THE REPUBLICANS THAT ANXIOUS FOR ANOTHER AL-QUEDA ATTACK ON THE "HOMELAND"? WHAT'S NEXT...LINDSEY GRAHAM GETTING ON CAMERA AND GIVING BIN LADEN A 'COME HITHER' LOOK?
I read about this in different news press articles, this is news? This is more ignorant trashy name calling, that certainly will not insult, but will confirm what they already think about American politicians...We are talking about ignorance, childish name calling, hick inc...I really wonder how most of the right wing professional ever were able to graduate from college...Well I guess anyone with a normal IQ, even in the lower realms of average, who can memorize can make it through college...Oh and of course Bush had his daddy who obviously paid to assure his son a college degree...Oh my, now I am being snarly, but I am not a representative of the US government who is advertising my ignorance and lack of tact and reason to the entire world...This is oh so typical of the Bush gang and his minions...

Another way to look at this is that the Bushees are hoping to antagonize another terrorist attack soon as to try to use the fear that has worked for them in the past to: a] make a Republican president more likely in next year's elections, and/or b]suggest that Iran had a part to play in the attack and thus justify an attack there, as well. America's still breathing, after all, so that means Bush still has work to do.

New Osama video seems yet another forgery. Everyone needs Osama alive:
terrorists as symbolic leader and the US Administration - to avoid
scaling down the war on terror.
Obadiah Shoher rightly notes (
http://www.samsonblinded.org/news/osama-commemorates-911-1114 ) that
new Osama talks like a leftist university professor. I like Shoher's
analysis. No way a terrorist leader like Osama would use a speechwriter. Osama is famous
for his rhetoric.
Also, in the tape Osama both threatens America with attack (by
"proving" Americans polytheists) and offers (yet another time)
long-term coaching in Islam.
But his dyed beard makes me cautious. Islam's mujahedeen dye their
beards before battle.

Know your emeny:
"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step." -- Sir Winston Churchill - circa 1899

Perhaps Bin Laden is too a conservative republican with his own ideology of inequality and rights only of his kind. After all he is the same Reagan Freedom Fighter that his and Bush One Administrations aided, abetted and armed to the hilt for yet another cause, song and dance of democracy in Afghanistan. More so the current megalomaniac, in the White house has no need of any advice from his father. No doubt the US earlier provided Bin Laden all the logistics, material etc to build a hide outs all over the Afghan and Pakistan border. Old on the run may be but impotent, with all those wives and children that none can be found by the US is all but a pipe dream. The SOB is thumbing his nose at us and all Bush and company can do set in force the useless, big white Elephant Homeland so Called Security Department and with fraud war on Iraq has created million more Bin Ladens.

I'm totally against our illegal invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq. I seriously doubt that Bush will allow a real trial for Osama Bin Laden either. Bin Laden is way overrated as an influence in the Mid East or Islam. 911 was a public relations disaster for Osama's organization with Muslims all over the planet up in arms against his rogue organization. It was only the spunky moronic behavior of GW and his right wing jihad that rescued his sorry butt from being hounded out by mainstream Islamic leaders. Osama looks good only when put up against the criminal antics of our current leader. Bush getting reelected must have sent a powerful message to people in the Mid East that we are a bunch of extremists over here.

Bin Laden is concerned about global warming. Now who are you going to believe, Bin Laden or Mobil oil? Bin Laden's analysis of the coward Democrats is right. Actually folks, Bin has been dead for sometime, this tape was just a CIA job. Bush is using it to justify his stay in Iraq.

It reminds me of the now infamous "Bring them on" comment. The Republican deliberate ignorance is really awesome. When will they learn? Of course, if something as bad as 9/11 happens again (God forbids), we'll see the same cowards scurrying to their bunkers without caring about the security of the citizens.

In Bin Laden tape 9/7/07 he showed that he loves Jews.
"The holocaust of the Jews was carried out by your brethren in the middle of Europe. Had it been closer to our countries, most of the Jews would have been saved by taking refuge with us,” he said.
He expands further on his ideal of the Jews’ status in Muslim lands: “And my proof for that is in what your brothers, the Spanish, did when they set up the horrible courts of the Inquisition to try Muslims and Jews, when the Jews only found safe shelter by taking refuge in our countries.”
As further proof of his contention, bin Laden declares: “…that is why the Jewish community in Morocco today is one of the largest communities in the world. They are alive with us and we have not incinerated them.”
