instititions are capable of
successfully demonstrating
what it is they do with the money, some are tax dodges,
some are storefronts for OTHER
stuff, and all could benefit
from a good annual external audit. And, I don't think it
really matters what denomination or faith or
whathaveyou it is that you're
discussing, I think it boils
down to the same: People want
money for nothing, use religion as an excuse to get it. It's panhandling, with
religious literature. Nuff said.

Who cares. The Jews hate Christians and Muslims. Just read the Talmud. The Muslims hate Jews. Just read the Koran. Let us not get on this subject again on who gets the award of being the biggest hater. The Communists hated people and killed 150million. They get the award in my book. Now we have global warming that will kill us all. Do we, as the human race, hate ourselves by poisoning ourselves with the flesh of other creatures and getting mad cow disease? The ice caps are melting, in a few years they will be gone and affect our climate in a big time way. Let us talk about the present threat. Nixon's has been dead for year. Stop resurrecting the ghosts of the past when we have the ghouls of the present.

It is not surprising. Sarah Silverman is a typical Jewish racist who hates Christ and Christians: "I hope the Jews did kill Christ," she rages. "I'd do it again."

Pat - I hope you can find your thinking cap under your Bible because it's time for a lesson on comedy. Sometimes, in comedy, the performer says the opposite of the truth because this makes the joke...funny. This 'not quite the truth' humor can underscore irony, is at the heart of sarcasm, and is the very bones of story-telling.... You may find that people who aren't even professional comedians do this in your everyday life. Since the comments of Ms. Silverman you just quoted are not at the beginning of her routine in Jesus is Magic, you must have watched a lot of it. What a waste of your time - to make watching comedy productive, one needs a sense of humor.
And Ira, I think it's very important to keep people aware of things like Nixon's antisemitism because some folks live in a fairy land wherein the worst thing a president can be guilty of is liking a hummer in the oval office. Nixon was an a-hole and we need to know this.
Also, Ira [that's a Jew name, right?] I wish you wouldn't lump all people under one stereotype so much. Since you aren't doing it for comedic intent, it's just stupid. Not all Christians hate all Jews - they have social conflicts, but there are plenty of fair minded people of both backgrounds living in the same building or becoming friends in college study groups. Sometimes, Christians and Jews even screw each other - and I don't mean politically. Now fundamentalists of all stripes really do hate everybody - because they are crazy. That's a stereotype that's both true and not that funny.
Bert - I agree with you that churches are and should always be thought of as suspect. The track record of all organized religion is shady at best. The new mega churches of Christianity [may exist in others faiths, too, but I live in a mostly Christian area so going by what I can see] are obviously the product of a lot of money. If they upheld Christian values, they would keep their small old churches and use the new influx of money to build shelters for the poor and weak or to spread their message [of hate and sheepishness] to an even greater extent in the third world. Instead, they would rather play a game of keeping up with the Joneses, in which each congregation tries to outsize the latest ugly, Wal-Mart looking church of the next congregation.

Nixon didn't hate the Jews very much, just look at the billions he gave to Israel and saved them in the 73 war. Come on, he was controlled by them. I guess the slave does hate the master.
