Sexual desires and fears of inadequacies can only be enjoyed if the race is reduced to an object.

You assume that only whites are elitists or hypocrites and do not suffer from the effects of poverty or violence. There are so many social and economic ills that you choose to ignore that plague whites as well. Your racist perspective only dehumanizes whites and paints a bullseye on them for racial attacks by not only blacks, but hispanics who you so obviously hope to rally around your anti-white message of vengeance. I'm not sure I understand the argument you're making with these statistics. You say 46% of whites think black-latino relations are bad. Doesn't this leave room for the possibility that 54% think they're good? If that's the case, the difference between this figure and the 59% of latinos who also think they're good is not so remarkable.

The real problem is that "white" Americans are trained to hold blacks and Hispanics (the lower classes, especially) to low standards that would not be tolerated in whites. That is not the act of a friend. Why bother when anything you say or do will get you labeled a "racist"? It's understandable that most of us whites prefer to ignore the whole thing.

Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit violent crime against a white person than vice versa and 136 times more likely to commit robbery. What do these stats tell us? The real repository of racism is to be found not in the white community, but the African-American community. In almost all interracial attacks, whites are the victims, not the victimizers.

Black men(like OJ Simpson) appear to prefer White women much more than Black women, hence we see sometimes the unrealistic fear by White women of the Black man's sexuality that is expressed by White women in not hiring Black men to work with them. The way I read the charts, if the Black man rape of White women is close to 48%(population is 12%), then it is only four times as likely, which I will grant, may seem a lot to the White women. But Molly, being a woman, do tend to exaggerate at times, from my experience.

Mick, I agree that at the end of the day what seperates people, disenfranchising some and bolstering others, is really income and social opportunities like education. However, ethnicity isn't as intangible a part of this as you seem to see it. Ethnic-based bigotry is a real issue and it does cause some people to have less social opportunities. You could argue that had the people of New Orleans been rich suburbanites accross the board, FEMA would have acted quicker, but that denies the role that first slavery and then the aftermath of the Civil War had on creating a large number of poor and politically mutable black AND white people in that region. That's one example and it needs a little more shading, but it's one of many.
