New Poll Shows War Opposition

There's a new Washington Post/ABC poll on Iraq.

The question: Do you think Congress should approve $190 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan over the next year or reduce the amount?

The response:
- Approve all money: 26%
- Reduce somewhat: 23%
- Reduce sharply: 43%
- Approve no money: 3%

It's clear that a majority of Americans oppose constantly handing more money over to George W. Bush to prosecute his wars.

Awww shucks.

I think 9 billion every week or two is a small price to pay for the glorious liberty and freedom the Iraqi and Afghani people are so surely enjoying.

I mean, it's like we're sponsoring the 60 million inhabitants of Iraq and Afghanistan to the tune of $11/day each.

Awesome.

But GWB doesn't follow the whims of pollsters. That would have less truthiness.
He follows his gut.
100% could be against this war and he would not budge.

Gee, Gaspe, you're right.

Why don't we start right now sponsoring the liberation of Iran? It's sure to cost no more than another $11/day for Iran's almost 70 million people. And hey, most of it will come out of their oil revenues anyway, right?

And what a great time to begin this: just in time for the holiday season. Think we could get Ted Nugent to host the kick-off gala?
