Lieberman Says No To Investigating Blackwater
Sen. Joseph Lieberman, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee, says that he has no intention of investigating Blackwater USA and other government contractors who have been accused of criminal action.
Lieberman said he gets "angry when I hear about fraud or corruption in the spending of American dollars," but "You've got to set your own priorities, and it was clear to me that other committees were going to pick this up."
Where I come from, the alleged murder of seventeen people is not classified as "fraud" or "corruption," but Lieberman sees it another way. His counterpart in the House of Representatives, Rep. Henry Waxman, is holding hearings on the Blackwater incident.

It's good that Lieberman has revealed himself for what he really is. I used to think that he was a decent, respectable man but now there is no doubt he just another soulless politician bought and payed for.
I hope everything is clear now to those who were duped to vote for him.
What I cannot for the life of me understand is why this man is still the chairman of any committee! What is wrong with the Democrats? They were lied to by this SOB and now they have to kiss his butt? I just wish the state of Connecticut would impeach him and remove him from office!

I believe this is what's called being drunk on power. Joe knows he is untouchable politically and so he revels in punishing the hated enemy...Americans.

I am so disappointed in Liebermann, I thought being a Jewish man who lived his faith. However, it seems obvious that he is a self-serving politician. How can a person of conscience not be totally sickened by Blackwater, the Iraq occupation, and lying to the American people, for the sole purpose of oil and greed. May G-d be with him in those empty places.

Vicki, Liebermann is loyal to his people and supported the war with Iraq. Read what AIPAC and the Likud party said. Now he supports the coming war with Iran because Israel feels uncomfortable with Iran. Israel has as many nuclear weapons as Israel.Greens Demand Transparency from Israel on Nuclear Weapons
WASHINGTON - July 8,2004 - Green Party leaders are calling on the Bush Administration to put pressure on Israel to open up its nuclear weapons program to international scrutiny.
Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency, has demanded that Israel cooperate with the effort to rid the Middle East of nuclear weapons, but the Israeli government has refused to acknowledge that it possesses such arms.
"Israel may already have as many nuclear warheads as Great Britain," said Julia Willebrand, co-chair of the International Committee of the Green Party of the United States. "Israel is not formally listed among the countries which have acquired WMDs. Western governments have allowed Israel to maintain its 'nuclear ambiguity' stance too long, provoking suspicions that the U.S. might have shared nuclear technology with Israel."
Israel's treatment of Palestinians -- those who are Israeli citizens as well as those in the territories -- is comparable in many ways to South African apartheid, and has resulted in a cycle of violence and lack of security for both Israelis and Palestinians," said a member of the Green Party of Wisconsin. "A stable and just resolution of the conflict requires the full realization of the human rights of Palestinians and Israelis.” Real environmentalists and progressives vote Green.

Anyone notice how Lieberman looks like Senator Palpatine from Star Wars? Scary.

I'm beginning to wonder if Gore's concession of the 2000 election saved his life. Given Lieberman's positions since then, it's pretty scary to think of him as one heartbeat away. Call me cynical, but every time I think the Bush Admin cannot possibly sink any lower, they bring out a backhoe.

Senator Joe Liberman, once a voice of moderate politics until he almost lost his bid for re-election to Lamont, has turned on the Democrats, who he thinks betrayed him and backed the primary winner Lamont, has become an angry and arrogant swing voter who knows he can punish the Dems in the Senate anytime he wishes. Now a GOP member in disguise and the leading pro Israel lobbyist in Congress, Joe is flexing his muscles on the Blackwater investigation just to remind the Dems in Congress that he can thwart them whenever he wishes.

Lieberman is the epitome of the rotten chamelion. He will morph into anything that accepts him. We are truly fortunate that he did not become VP, But less fortunate for losing Gore. I am a CT. resident and can't for the life of me understand how my fellow CTers didn't see his true colors, they were and are obvious. Some Democrats are spineless but at the same time those who are vertibrates are being strangled by the Rep's.
