Empire State Building to be Lit for Muslim Holy Day
New York City again shows that the as one of only two American city cities* actually attacked by Islamic terrorism, it is the one perhaps most willing to embrace Muslims, immigrants, and its own rich cultural diversity. From Newsday:
The Empire State Building will be illuminated green this weekend to mark the Islamic holy days of Eid-al-Fitr (EED-ALL-FEET-er).
The joyous "Festival of Fast-breaking" marks the end of Ramadan, a month of intense spiritual renewal.
This year is the first time the famous skyscraper will be aglow for the Islamic holiday. A spokeswoman for the building's owner says it will be an annual event, in the same tradition of the yearly skyscraper lighting for Christmas and Hanukah.
In Islam, the color green symbolizes a happy occasion and the importance of nature.

So? What's the story here? Sad that anyone should even think anything of this.

I think this is wonderful! I'm sure the right wing radio hosts will make a VERY big deal of it.

This is a case of political correctness taken to the point of madness. Left-wing self-hatred is so deeply rooted that a skyscraper - the most beloved in NYC - is transformed into a "celebration" of Islam just a few years after the WTC was destroyed in the name of militant Islam and thousands were murdered. It is just incredible - but apparently there is no limit to the shamelessness of the far left.

I think this is really great. I'm so honored to be recognised in such a beautiful way. As someone who's a very patriotic, American-born Muslim, this gesture evokes even more love for my country and just makes me glow with so much pride that boasts to the world what a beautiful country this is.
At the same time, I very humbly and respectfully wanted to mention that It's not fair to those muslims who follow a religion of peace only to have it and themselves mistaken as anything but peacful due to the hideous actions of a few that weren't even practicing the religion.
It's comparable to someone calling Geoffrey Dahmer or the Uni-bomber a Christian Cannibalistic serial-killer or Christian terrorist.. Please don't blame a religion or the entire race for the mistake of a grossly disturbed few, no matter what religion it may be.
Let's continue to honor and celebrate all the beautiful cultures and religions that make up our unique Country and keep showing the world what an amazing country we are.
God Bless America! :)

Three cities: L.A. had that Muslim man who went out gunning for Jews (and I think the flight to Egypt that was hijacked and crashed by an Islamofascist originated in L.A.)

Jake, why the hate? America needs to be a welcoming nation to all. Inclusive, multi-cultural, not a racist country.
