Pat Robertson: Flippin' Out
Remember Regent Law, the school founded by Pat Robertson to bring the will of the Almighty to the legal profession? While half of the school's early graduates flunked the bar on the first go-around, Regent has sent a number of its alumni to the Bush administration, including, most famously, former DOJ staffer Monica Goodling. One Regent student who's not likely to get a White House placement any time soon is Adam Key, who's been threatened with expulsion for posting on his Facebook page a YouTube video of the school's founder, well, flippin' the bird during a TV interview. Apparently the will of the Almighty is that the First Amendment doesn't protect those making fun of Pat Robertson.
Here's the offending video.

This shows the level of Mencimer's posts. Why give this person gratuitous publicity? We didn't talk about Michael Savage, the infamous radio talk show host, because we know just how dangerous he is and his ideas. This old man, Pat Robertson, 76, who cares. Mancimer may be a fan of him, but lets talk about serious things, like recently, Senator Kerry give the finger to Vets, Kerry is a U.S. Senator. Pat Robertson is a nobody. "Democratic senator - and certain presidential nominee - John F. Kerry, gave the middle finger to a Vietnam veteran at the Vietnam Memorial Wall on Memorial Day morning," NewsMax.com reported yesterday. This is a very newsworthy use of the finger by a very important person(Senator Kerry).

I don't know what to make of this. I think it's bad what Regent is doing to this guy, but at the same time, you have to factor in what kind of school it is, and that Robertson is the President. You couldn't have possibly expected something like that to just pass unnoticed.
As for Key, I think it takes stones to be a liberal and attend a school like Regent. I also think it takes a lack of common sense. I think he made the wrong decision to attend Regent, also because he doesn't seem to be getting a proper legal education. So he wrote a 14-page brief defending his posting on the grounds that it's satire protected by the First Amendment. I've never been to law school and I can dismiss that in one sentence. A student gets no First Amendment protection in a private school.
Lastly, he's doing himself no favors by fighting it and letting the story go national. Some potential employers are likely to remember this. He should have just took the video down and moved on.

Stormingnorman your basing information on Newsmax? You have got to be kidding. It is a conservative rag... just as well make up stuff on your own. I agree this Pat Robertson video is just goofy. I know a lot of the older generation who point with middle finger. I think the video was just a pun and the real story is the lack of freedom the freedom loving right wishes to steal from those that don't fall in line with them.

Sorry, guys, the First Amendment only applies to government.
Fair's fair.

Kerry giving the Vets the finger, I saw the picture myself. It is all over. Kerry is a U.S. Senator that threw away his medals. He hates the Vets.

Don't trust Kerry.
Giving a vet the finger is part of his MO only that it was more visible. Kerry said nothing at UF when a student got zapped by the campus police. And, why did Kerry concede a previous presidential election so quickly, when he knew there was problems in Florida?
He is only part of the Democrat-Republican ruse. There is only the Corporate Party in the USA Inc.

Pat Robertson: Flippin' Out -
Who cares. It's meaningless. He wasn't flipping anybody off. It's just the way his fingers happened to go.
Dear Mother Jones editors: Please don't publish anymore of this junk journalism. Please. It's not even intelligent humor. We expect and need better.
p.s. - To Stormington and Ann: The Kerry photo is fake. A little research can go a long way. You can hate Kerry if you want to - but not for things he hasn't done! Take a look at the photo links at http://www.counterbias.com/blog/2004/07/conservative-dishonesty-jon-alvarez.html

"for things he hasn't done!" like doing nothing at UF, like not contesting election results?
No, I don't hate him. In fact, I once thought that he was the better option of two evils, until I did a "little research".
