Huckabee is Officially Done
Plucked this from a McCain campaign email I just received.

It's official: the former Governor of Arkansas is toast. Now it's just a matter of time until he realizes it and drops out. But hey, he doesn't have anything else to do (other than firing up that popcorn popper). I say let him have his fun.

Two things:
1) If Huckabee gets all the remaining delegates, he ends up with more than McCain. I say that makes Huck slightly less than toast right now (warm bread?)
2) What happens to the delegates pledged to Romney?

I hope Huckabee mistakes McCain for a squirrel and has a popcorn maker handy . . .

I think Huckabee is still in it primarily to prevent the Democrats from dominating the news. He will probably stay in as long as Sen. Clinton and Obama are battling, so that news organizations will be reporting on him and McCain even though it was long over. Thats a lot of free advertising.

Someone needs to take remedial math. According to those numbers, it takes 64% of the vote to win the R primary.

Good point, Gary. What if Huck gets Romney's delegates? What do the numbers look like then?

With Romney's delegates, and the God Father's (Bush 41) blessing, it is a done deal. The Conservatives that are not happy with McCain's march to war with Iran, they can vote for the Constitution Party or the American Independent Party in California.
