Our Election Through Australia's Eyes
My interview with Australian radio airs today and is available online for a month.

D., very good points on ABC interview. Having grown up in Georgia and northern Florida during the fifties and sixties, and not being a "good ol' boy", leaving wasn't really a question. Settling later in the West and then finally in the North(Minnesota), I was dismayed when the 2000 election showed the same ugly racism in my original birthplace. While the U.S. isn't alone in its' racism, it lingers(I feel) due to fear of reprisal for the whites. Even in the North, whites can say the stupidist things relating to a person's collective personality based upon skin color or ethinicity. My feeling is that the young have experienced the exposed myth due to the past integration measures if they directly experienced them i. e., got to know people of a different skin color as another human being. This would be an uniting factor versus a divisive factor projected through the republican organization with the main backlash of the conservatives starting with Reagan and culminating over the last two pres. electoral cycles. If Obama's youth army can stay the course, and if a majority of progressives are elected; and if the election isn't stolen, again; coupled with exposure of past transgressions and criminal proceedings, legislative rollbacks should come hard and fast else the youth will be disheartened.
