A New Smear Email: Obama Gave an Anti-Israel Speech at a Black Church

barack-obama-american-flag250x200.jpg

Barack Obama is a secret Muslim who refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance. During the Democratic primary campaign, the junior senator from Illinois has been hit repeatedly by virulent viral emails pushing false claims like these. The latest: Obama, due to his Muslim background, secretly favors Palestinians over Israelis.

An unsourced email being disseminated claims that "someone taped former Muslim Barack HUSSEIN Obama at a black church when he was in South Carolina" and that Obama said:

It's clear that we give too much money to Israel. [cheers] Why... do you know that every American gives approx .20 cents A DAY to Israel? [jeers] We keep hearing how tough the Israelis are... how great an 'ally' they are... --but what if we gave the SAME AMOUNT of money we gave THEM to the poor Palestinians--I bet THAT would bring them finally to the table. We could have a two-state solution... a two-state solution--just like former President Carter outlined in his latest book. We can't have peace in the Middle East until we solve that problem down in Palestine. George Bush should have thought about that before he went into Iraq...[etc.]

The email goes on to note that Obama sounds "a GREAT DEAL like Malcolm X." It asks, "Instead of the 'Manchurian Candidate,' is Obama the secret 'Farrakan Candidate'"? It then seeks to explain his purported anti-Israel bias:

Will Barrack's [sic] Muslim roots cause him to favor the Palestinians against Israel?
Because he's a "person of color," will Obama be more sympathetic to 3rd World Peoples' struggles in that they have "darker skin" like him?
Does Obama distrust the lighter-skinned, more "European"-looking Israelis and tend to favor the "darker complexioned" Palestinians and other Arabs (al Qaeada? [sic]) because his Muslim African father and cousins?

Obama's father was raised as a Muslim but was not a practicing Muslim as an adult. He was either agnostic or an atheist. He left Obama and Obama's mother when Obama was two years old. Obama has said he has never worshipped in a mosque--which would mean he is not a former Muslim. And he has recently moved to demonstrate his pro-Israel credentials.

The email is not just anti-Obama; it's racist: "Will his election in America temper or EMBOLDEN the 3rd World Terrorist Groups he physically resembles around the world?"

This missive clearly is directed at Jewish American voters. It calls on the "pro-Israeli lobby" to investigate Obama: "He DOES have Muslim roots, you know! Is he a Trojan Horse for anti-Israeli interests? Maybe the American Jewish community ought to THINK about all that." The email adds, "We already KNOW the Clintons are pro-Israeli."

Bill Burton, an Obama spokesman, says that Obama campaign was unaware of the email until Mother Jones asked about it. And the campaign issued a statement: "This is the latest in a string of outlandish and false attacks against Barack Obama. Obama has a strong and consistent record of speaking out for and voting for economic and security assistance for Israel because he believes in a strong U.S.-Israel alliance."

The note yields no clues as to who's behind it. For what it's worth, it does seem to encourage American Jews to vote for HIllary Clinton instead of Obama. But there's no telling what that says about its origins. (Could someone be trying to make the Clinton camp look bad?) But it's another sign of how easy it is for political dirty tricksters to spread malicious and untrue innuendo. Should Obama become the Democrats' presidential nominee, he can expect a flood of similar attacks. In the meantime, the unknown author of this email says, "We're putting [the tape of Obama at the South Carolina church] up on YouTube." So far, nothing is there.

That may be the dirtiest lie of the campaign, how do people believe that kind of crap? I've seen some comments on the MoJo bloogs like that as well as stuff from previous campaigns and I'm left to wonder what kind of people pedal this kind of trash, Hillary is a lesbian, McCain had a illegitimate black baby, etc. I know this stuff has been going on throughout American political history so it will probably never stop, but aren't the voters supposed to be more educated than that? Who would be fool enough to buy it and still be smart enough to vote? Will people ever wise up?

What part of the email encourages a vote for Clinton? Maybe you should post the whole thing.

Michael Z, I agree. Unfortunately people aren't as educated (and often "decent") as most of us would like to believe. I've received similar emails about the Senator in the past.

If those who hate and despise this man would spend more time constructing serious, analytical criticisms and less time espousing false and hateful rhetoric than anti Obama discussions could become more meaningful.

Fear drives many to lie and distort the truth . . . what are they afraid of is the question . . . is the fear rational and supported by legitmate facts or just B.S.

Have a great day America!

Michael Z wrote: "... how do people believe that kind of crap?"

I don't think they do (believe that crap). Just check the results at the polls.

WE-THE-PEOPLE are letting our votes do our talkin'. Let the swift-boat types keep trying this crap ... the way it's working out, it's almost as good as a campaign donation to the Obama campaign. I expect they'll keep-on comin' too. They'll keep trotting out this baloney coz they're too thick-headed to realize what impact their junk is having THIS time around. C'mon swifties, keep that junk c'mon ... it's like coal to this steam engine! Just lay yourselves down on those tracks.

Obama is in fact, the perfect candidate for the benefit of left-leaning American Jews and even not so left-leaning ones.
Assuming he is being honest and sincere in his campaign statements, he is the "golden-child" for American Jews--even ones who don't care much about Israel (and that variety can be found on both the left and right).
I recognized this fact many months ago.
It might even be better, had he been a former Muslim and if he really, really meant what he says, still better--if he was today a practicing Muslim. This short-circuits most of the vitriol which has been carefully constructed by the anti-Israel and Anti-Semitic activists.
Its one thing to proffer names like Wolfowitz and Lieberman and label everyone a "neocon", but its entirely another story to try that on an inner-city brother--leftist--populist, like Obama. While the Jewophobes insist that George W Bush is a mere puppet of the evil "Zionists lobby", it begins to sound profusely paranoid to add Obama to that list.
I love him. When I learn how to dance, I want to be just like him.
I am not speaking exclusively about Israel mind ya. Put them aside momentarily. I am nauseous-sick of the angry eyes and angrier words, from resentful Americans, who see my Jewish ethnicity--as a symbol of their perceived oppression. When I was single, (and as a leftist) I lost women to this un-popularity contest.
Obama may have a "Messiah" complex but if he can deliver peace to Israel and/or free myself from the shackles of perceived crimes against humanity, he can have a shrine (with incense) in the corner of my house.
Barack-and-roll!

It was said complementary and therefore not a racist remark. People don’t complement people they hate (or even mildly resent).
Moreover, Mr. Obama started this joke himself, when he was asked what he thought about Bill Clinton's longstanding claim that he (Clinton) was the first Black U.S. President.
Obama replied:
"Lets see how he dances and then I'll tell you what I think".
This is not a foggy quote off an obscure web page, I actually witnessed the exchange on national network TV.
Lastly, Mr. Obama (probably because he does not play a saxophone) did an entire dance-set on Ellen deGeneres.
I will accept your apology now, please.

Joe Biden's comments were 'back-handed' because his inference was that other Black politicians were somehow less "clean".
My comments were pure complement and requires no apology--for various reasons stated. Your first reaction was merely ignorant. Your second reaction was far closer to racially motivated hate then mine.

Barack Obama seems to have some good qualities, and it's easy to sympathize with him now that he's under attack by the Clinton machine. However, Caroline Glick finds serious fault with Obama over his association with the enemies of Israel and his support for Islamists seeking to take control of a state allied with the U.S.

Building on the work of Ed Lasky of the American Thinker, Glick identifies three instances of Obama’s connection with forces hostile to Israel. First, his spiritual adviser, Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., has called for divestment from Israel and refers to Israel as "racist." Indeed, there’s reason to believe that Wright is hostile to Jews. He is a friend of Louis Farrakhan, upon whom he has conferred a "Lifetime Achievement" award. According to Glick, although Obama recently condemned Farrakhan for his anti-Semitism, he did not disavow Wright, who married him and baptized his daughters, and he has taken no steps to moderate his church's anti-Israel invective.

In addition, some of Obama’s key financial backers and foreign policy advisers are anti-Israel. They include George Soros, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Susan Rice, and Robert Malley. Rice served as an adviser to the Kerry campaign and, according to Glick, persuaded Kerry to announce that he would appoint Jimmy Carter and James Baker as his envoys for Middle East peace talks. Malley has claimed that the 2000 Camp David summit failed because Israel wasn't serious about giving the Palestinians a state, a view that Bill Clinton disputes.(Menorah Blog) All real Jews support Ms Clinton and not Obama.

There are no “perfect” candidates (speaking for any single cause) because even if that candidate says exactly what the hearer wants, they can always be accused of lying, or temporaly placating, to get elected.
(see part 2 below)

Is he perhaps “over-compensating” for issues mentioned in your post?
I can accept that without loosing respect for him.
You wrote:
“ . . . All real Jews support Ms Clinton and not Obama.”
You don’t get to decide who is a “real Jew”. Chances are that your ancestors were Huns while my family is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments.
(See part 3 below)

Moreover, there were “real Jews” (Hasids) marching in the Anti Israel rally in Washington DC. As a religious matter, they believe that Israel is religiously prohibited until the arrival of the “Messiah”. This is not “far fetched”. When the chief Rabbi of the Balkans (Judas Alkalai) proposed the re-establishment of Israel (as a religious movement) in 1865, his proposal was roundly rejected (on religious grounds) from all the world’s rabbinical leaders. When indeed Israel was established in 1947-48, many such ultra orthodox groups rejected the notion for the same reason. (This, incidentally, helps explain why Israel was a leftist cause in the 1940’s and 1960’s, because the secular and leftist Jews found themselves at odds with the conservative ones).
(see part 4 below)

Obama can not (as a practical matter) tell his preacher what to preach.
And there is no supporter of Israel more convinced or convincing then a converted one.
So the question I pose to you becomes: Is Obama being truthful?
The answer I pose to you is:
Real, (real) Jews have built-in radar and don’t need rhetoric to enlighten them on this point. That is how we have survived the variety of geno-cides for thousands of years.
The thing we most have a hard time surviving is our own tendency to “outsmart” ourselves.

I am not a Muslim and I would like to see the conflict between Israel and Palestine come to an end. The US needs to be fair to all people and I hope and pray that when the Democratics (Obama) are in office we finally solve the dilemma for the beginning of peace in the Middle East.

I didn't find the remark offensive at all, but probably because my background is in dance. Also, I think "Trollstein" was using the term as an analogy or affectionate compliment (like "I wanna be just like you when I grow up").

It's hard to differentiate sometimes when something is racist, and I understand how it could've been misconstrued as such. But I wanted to speak up in defense of that post because it was clear to me that he was complimenting Obama, and not trying to be offensive.

I'm 54 years old and remember very well the rumors flying and outright lies told during the political campaigns and civil unrest of the 1960s. I sat in Westbrook Baptist Church listening as the preacher warned us about the communist leanings of and Chinese financial support for M. L. King, Jr. They even had pictures! Most of the propoganda about the Muslim world reminds me well of the stuff I heard at school and church in the 50s and 60s about the Communists. Americans love to have an enemy.

Followers of Islam are as diverse as Christians; you have those that are not practicing and those that are dow-right frightening in their zeal. But remember, this country was founded on the basis of equality and fairness and justice. Deciding that someone is unworthy based on their looks, their affiliations, or beliefs is borderline Nazi, well, certainly fascist.

Yes We Can, Stand For Change We Can Believe In!

Are we finally coming of age
Are the answers within reach
Can we take our Country back
Fight what the corporations preach?

Will it be for, we the people
The way, it was meant to be
Can we stop the loss of our rights
Return to, the land of the free?

One man cannot change it all
He can't take it all apart
But with our help it can be done
And at the top, is where we start.

The status quo, has got to go
We all know, it's got to change
We can't wait, till it's too late
Now, is the time to rearrange.

It all started out with NAFTA
Bill Clinton could have stopped it cold
Now, the China Trade Agreement
Has them make most all that's sold.

The Congress and the Senate
Let it all snowball and grow
We borrow from the Communists
They'll bankrupt us, don't you know?

They give King Bush a free hand
To do most anything he likes
Like torture and wiretapping
And so-called preemptive strikes.

We must hold them all accountable
If they won't do the People's will
We merely have to kick them out
And vote for someone who will.

We can bring our Troops home
From Bushes ill begotten war
Give them the care they all deserve
Before we lose too many more.

On the other hand we can vote
To stay a hundred years in Iraq
Where we should have never gone
So sad, we can't take it all back.

All that we've been wasting
We can start to spend on us
If it's not too late already
If our treasury's not gone bust.

People caught in our disasters
Could get aid instead of rhetoric
And told they will not be forgotten
While they live in trailers and get sick.

We could develop other energies
And get away from foreign oil
Like cheap, renewable sources
Grown here on American soil.

We can take tax cuts from the rich
And give the middle class a break
Bring jobs back to our People
That corporations want to take.

Maybe, fix some roads and bridges
Have health care for everyone
Fix schools and pay the teachers
Just some things, that can be done.

As far as the “super delegates”
They best listen to, what voters say
Not just put in, who they want
With some arrogant power play.

It surely is a time for change
It's time for the People to rule
Instead of the corporate politicians
Headed up, by some other fool.

Maybe we'll restore our image
And be what, we once stood for
A beacon that the World will see
Once more, leads to Freedom's door.

But, we can't show them anything
Unless, we first, see the light
And guide our Nation to the place
Where we the People, have the Right.

Some may not get past the color
That's sad, in this day and age
It's time for them to get over it
So, we can turn another page.

Let's hope he'll do what he says
That we won't get the shaft again
And when he wins the election
It will be all of us who'll win.

We may not get another chance
At the least, not one like this
It's a once in a lifetime choice
That, would be a shame, to miss.

STRASBOURG - European Union lawmakers urged Israel on Thursday not to inflict "collective punishment" on Gaza's population, saying its isolation of the territory had failed and its actions were endangering civilians.
They urged Israel to lift a blockade which has cut supplies to the 1.5 million people in Gaza, run by the Islamist group Hamas, and let in aid and essential goods and services.
"The policy of isolation of the Gaza strip has failed at both the political and humanitarian level," the European Parliament said in an adopted resolution.
"The civilian population should be exempt from any military action and any collective punishment." "The European Parliament calls on Israel to cease military actions killing and endangering civilians, and extrajudicial targeted killings," The resolution said.

Gee, Josh maybe Carter was suggested as coappointee because they wanted bipartisan heavyweights respected domestically and abroad. Susan Rice is hardly anything but an establishment figure. Brezinski was National Security Advisor and TriLateralist analyst. Come on.

As for Wright - you can respect someone you disagree with (well some of us can) as he did with Wright over Farrakhan when he rebuked him. It's his neighborhood church, not a mind-control program. The Pope teaches some pretty extreme things, but Catholics often disagree (and they're not even technically allowed to).

A new civil court founded in Belgium by human rights organizations will convene for the first time Friday evening and discuss war crimes Israel had allegedly committee during the Second Lebanon War and war crimes the groups claim it is currently committing in the Gaza Strip
Over the past year, human rights groups, in cooperation with Arab and European intellectuals, have been working on establishing the new court, which will be tasked with addressing different issues related to human rights violations and war crimes.
The first matter on the court's agenda will be Israel's operations in the Gaza Strip. Human rights organizations, as well as the victims of these alleged crimes, will appear before the court. The court has also invited Israeli representatives to attend the hearing and respond to the accusations. Ms Clinton should step up and support Humman Rights.

Perhaps the 'collective punishment' has been a failure. However, if the EU was serious about stopping the suffering (on both sides) it would have a plan. It has no plan. It only has condemnation. Apparently, the EU's only plan is to permit endless attacks against Israel to go perpetually un-checked. That is not a plan.
If the EU really wanted an end to the violence and suffering, they would commit NATO forces to keep the peace in Gaza. Why won't they? Because they well know that within one week, their military would be getting kidnapped, tortured and killed, the EU forces would also have to be shooting back at the militants/terrorists and (like Israel) would be hitting Arab civilians in the process.
Some plan that would be.
Everyone is a magnanimous pacifist--when it comes to other people's casualties.
I would welcome a plan to stop the violence. In the mean time, 20,000 anti-civilian rockets were shot into Israel from Gaza in 2007. Each and every one of these 20,000 rocket attacks constitutes an official war crime, because such munitions can NOT be made to comply with the basic requirements of Geneva, namely, the exclusive targeting of combatants.
When I was a teenager in the 1970’s, my non-Jewish friends were convinced that the Jews of Europe were lost because “they did not fight back”. This was actually the common perception among rough street (city) kids. The shallow way the world is, that explanation may some day return to prominence. Lets hope it does not.

Today's Israel is not a "Jewish State." Jack Bernstein, author of The Life Of An American Jew in Racist Marxist Israel explains:

"At the eastern edge of Europe, there lived a tribe of people know as the Khazars. About the year 740 A.D., the Khazar king and his court decided they should adopt a religion for their people. So, representatives of the three major religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, were invited to present their religious doctrines. The Khazars chose Judaism, but it wasn't for religious reasons. If the Khazars had chosen Islam they would have angered the strong Christian world. If they had chosen Christianity they would have angered the strong Islamic world. So they played it safe--they chose Judaism, not for religious reasons but for political ones.

Sometime during the 13th century, the Khazars were driven from their land and they migrated westward with most of them settling in Poland and Russia. These Khazars are now known as Ashkenazi Jews. Because these Khazar Ashkenazi Jews merely chose Judaism, they are not really Jews, at least not blood Jews.

Throughout their history, these Polish and Russian Ashkenazi Jews practiced communism/socialism and worked to have their ideas implemented in these countries.

America was a country built on fear inspired genocide and fear has worked well for the powerbrokers throughout our history. It can make a country turn a blind eye to the suffering of others inflicted in our name. The nutbars and frightened little bigots as well as fearful powerbrokers will come out of the woodwork in the months ahead so don't be alarmed by the myriad of lies and fear-mongering that will ensue. By keeping fear on the forefront otherwise decent people will be compelled to commit dispicable acts of cowardice. Obama knew this when he decided to seek the Presidency.
Our culture of hate will be undone, it must if we are to survive into the future.
Fear of Mexicans, fear of Arabs/Persians, fear of Blacks, fear of communists(except China, they are our piggy bank) It will get nasty out there so getting hyped up by an obviously fake e-mail or racist comment is just not worth the energy.
Obama has proven his worth as a leader and a human being, the sub-human knuckle draggers will be gnashing their canines and making up crap as fast as possible the closer he gets to becoming our next President.

Most often, people from all sides accuse me of being on the other extreme. But I am no “pot-sturer” either. This is a necessary stage before the same people come to realize that I represent the most plausible and workable compromise. The question is, will stage “B” arrive in my lifetime? Stage ‘A’ can be somewhat demoralizing, especially in the long-term.

Has anybody heard about the e-mail that stated John McCain's violent temper and irrational acts were a result of untreated Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his experience in VN? It inferred he was psychologically unfit to be Commander and Chief.

I think it was put out by the Bush campaign when McCain was running for the 2000 nomination.

Everybody who speaks out about Israel is not an anti-Semite. Don't people understand how dangerous it is to assume otherwise?

I sincerely hope that Obama's unique background will allow him to bring peace to the Middle East in a way that hasn't been done before. We'll see.

But his commitment to the special relationship between American and Israel and the concept of a Jewish state are clear. He has prominent pro-Israel supporters, including Dennis Ross. Don't buy into the smear campaign.

Assuming you are correct and there will never be peace in the Middle East, why are we discussing it? Don't you have something fun to do instead? I know I do.
Your comment is somewhat of a simplified 'bumper-sticker' and disregards thousands of years of rather intricate history. But lets fast-forward to the late 1800's and very early 1900's.
The Palestinian-Arabs who lived in and around the Jerusalem area (today's Israel) were few by comparison and a much different group of people.
With few exceptions, they had no problems with their Jewish neighbors. Most of the violence was imported from other countries (or their supporters such as England) that had inherent problems with non-Muslims and especially with Jews. Muslim religious clerics, were a prime source of agitation. However, the mostly secular Palestinian-Arabs merely wanted what the Jews wanted, larger homes, more livestock and generally a better standard of living. The stark difference can be witnessed in the link below:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Peasant_Family_of_Ramallah_1900-1910.jpg
If you look at the clothing, it does not match the caption: “Peasant Family”. These were the cloths of a relatively affluent family. The picture is in black-and-white so we can not see the bold colors. Such colors and metallic trims were not the adornment of street-peasants. The average M.E. Arab of the circa was among the poorest human on the planet. Such cloths would cost the average Arab in the Mid East about three month’s wages.
One of the more powerful Arab families were the al-Husaynis. These were very wealthy land-owners who disfavored the establishment of a Jewish homeland, but they equally opposed the establishment of Jordan for much the same reason. They wanted to be the royal family of Palestine, rather then the Hussein family (as-Sayyid Abdullah I). The al-Husaynis cleverly used Muslim religious authority to mask their own personal ambitions, with several successive generations being trained in Mecca for the necessary (though honorary) religious title of ‘Hajj.’
The profound grief the Jews now face is the end result of these sorts of potentates, combined with the deliterios effect of England supporting 'the Jordanian cause' for its own selfish reasons. Can this be reversed? Maybe not. But the first step towards the only hope we have is understaning the true-facts.

Yes. Not every critisism of Israel is so motivated. I should hope not, because I have also been critical of Israel from time-to-time.
On the other hand (IMHO) many remarks are anti-Semitic and most of those who make such remarks also refuse to admit it.
There is actually a formula, which is not perfect or exact but goes something like:
1. Those who hold Israel to a higher standard of morality and/or justice then other nations; {Phillis Chesler, PhD}
2. Those who are singly concerned for the wellbeing of the Palestinian-Arabs, while paying little or no attention to other suffering peoples — especially other suffering Arabs and double especially, to other suffering Arabs, who are suffering at the hands of other Arabs; {Bernard Lewis, PhD}
3. Those who consistently lie or warp reality, profoundly embellish or deliberately confuse what are otherwise simple precepts, in order to emphasize their point(s), whereas such fallacious emphasis always cuts against Israel. {Trollstein}.
Most Anti-Semites will engage in all three. However, only one tendency is required to qualify.
Lastly, Jews are one of the few populations who can, plausibly be anti-Semetic (while also being Semites themselves).

"Building on the work of Ed Lasky of the American Thinker, Glick identifies three instances of Obama’s connection with forces hostile to Israel. According to Glick, although Obama recently condemned Farrakhan for his anti-Semitism, he did not disavow Wright, who married him and baptized his daughters, and he has taken no steps to moderate his church's anti-Israel invective."

So, what!

What has Pastor Wright's stance on Israel to do with Obama being the President? I doubt that Pastor Wright is ever going to be called on to be a Presidential consultant in matters of policy regarding America's relationship with Israel. Furthermore, Israel is not the 51st state of the USA, nor is it a US territory. Israel is an ally like hundreds of other sovereign Middle Easter nations who are in allegiance with America and western Europe.

African America doesn't place a whole lot of confidence in the antisemitic rantings of Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan is respected as the Prophet of Islam, but his social and political views are rarely shared beyond the walls of his temple, to which Barak Obama does not claim membership or any relevant association.

I hear all this defense and protection for Israel against Muslims, whom the Bush Administration, while holding hands with Israel's enemies the Saudis, has murdered in droves in this pretentious ruse Dumya calls the War on Terra. Is there no end to the hypocrisy?

It's terrible strategy in the first place: anybody that has a slight clue knows that there are many, many more Muslims in the USA then Jews...they just are not as vocal for obvious reasons. The whole notion that the USA unconditionally supports any nation that does not separate church and state should be apalling to any citizen that cares about the Constitutional principles that this country is founded on...."no religious test" for office can not become an out of date notion. Beware of the right who tries to portray every founding father as an evangelical Christian...that if alive today would want Isreal to be ready for Jesus to return.

Actually Joe, there are slightly less Muslims in the USA then Jews. The percentage is disputed but varies from a low of 1/2% to a high of 2.2% with the average estimate about 1%.
The less disputed tabulation of Jewish population in the USA is 2%.
BTW: The Jews invented seperation of "church and state" in 1,200-BC (3,200 years ago). This is still a pert of the Israeli national laws.
People who are critical of Israeli civil rights practices often claim that Arab (Israeli) citizens are 2nd class. This may be true to some degree and it should not be glorified. However:
1. This is the exact same situation that exists in every other country with a major minority group.
2. It is certainly the situation in Muslim countries.
3. Even as 2nd class citizens, the Arabs of Israel have a higher standard of living, are better educated and have better medical care then their brothers in neighboring Arab countries (not counting oil-rich nations). Even counting the OPEC Arab countries, Arabs citizens of Israel get to vote and are represented in Parlement. Try that trick in Saudi Arabia.

Jimmy Carter did not win his prize for decades after his Camp David work. If you ask me, the Nobel (Peace) prize is given out to those who are in political compliance with policy supported by EUs left-wing. Carter has been vocal in his denounciation of Israel over recent years. That may have qualified him. Although, many of Carter's more recent statements are either flat-out false, or are substancially misleading. Carter, BTW: kept warm relations with the Shah of Iran, a brutal dictator--who's secret police (Savak) made the Israeli Mossad look like the 'Boy-Scouts'. Carter also seems to have no problems with other repressive regimes, such as Saudi Arabia. While president, it was reported that Carter dispached a group of Green Berets into Mecca because the Royal Family asked him for military back up, due to Islamic radicals--who had seized control of a few Mosques. There were no prisoners. Essentially, the Green Berets had carried out Islamic (Sharia) law because the Saudi Religious police were barred by their own religious ruless from bringing weapons into the holy sites.

“The government should initiate this; these people are dangerous and we must keep an eye on them,” he said as the High Court discussed whether to cancel the Jerusalem gay pride parade due to the firefighters' slow-down strike. “If such a center is built, many of them will flock to it in order to help themselves. “ Ze'ev added that gay people must be made aware of “how their lifestyle is destroying our existence”. Zeev went as far as comparing the gay movement to a "plague that may destroy Jewish Israel", adding that this "plague" should be dealt with "just as the Health Ministry is dealing with bird flu.") Me and Olaf would not feel comfortable there. They would put us in the camps.

That is exactly my point, however, why are you quoting census figures from 1991?
The size of the group is not the relivant component. I never said that it was. You said that it was. Then you argue with yourself. Next you will claim that I fabricate all my facts because I mis-spelled a word.
My point dealt with the fact that in the USA, Blacks are only one of many, many major groups, including: Hispanics, Chinese, Koreans, Italians, Vietnamese, Philipeno, etc. etc. Whereas in most other examples internationally, there are one or (possibly) two minorities only.
Where only one or two minorities have any substancial numbers, their '2nd class' status is usually assured.
My facts are typically strait. They are always typically strait. I am a vigorous blogger and I only bother to blog on controversial sites where my opinion is the (2nd class) minority. Even if you were to identify an example of a mis-statement (which occurs from time-to-time) I would own up, appoligise and move onto more strait facts. You have not done so, yet, you condemn the sum-and- substance of all my postings. Why? naturally, because you do not agree with them. Sadly for you, your opinion is even less important then my (once and a while) corrupt data.
No one has ever staged a successful (long-term) challenge of my data-bases. No one. Ever. Not you and not anyone else. You may have your opinion and I shall have mine. However, you will need more then a single, (entirely perceived) innaccuracy to claim I always make things up.
What really upsets you is you know I am having some persuasive effect on those reading. The only way you might know that is that it is also so effecting yourself. So you fight the feeling with blanket condemnations and no real examples. You want to be taken seriously, do as I do when I challenge someones blog facts:
I post their statement, the correction AND THE PROOF in the form of a URL.
All you have done is try to make a point where none existed and then asserted that the same also goes for everything else I write.

Saying that other countries such as the US also have ethnic inequity does not look good for the US but reinforces Trollsteins argument.

The world can not judge Israel on a level playing field because doing so takes most of the points away from the critics of Israel.

So people bicker and name call and distract. They pitch fits and insult. Liberals tend to be well educated but you wouldnt know it from this blog. Educated people would debate as Trollstein suggests and specify their argument and post their proof with other web links.

Obama is mainstream. SWC Geneva, 24 March 2005,World Council of Churches Refuses Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Request To Rescind Israel Divestment Campaign. The general secretary of the World Council of Churches has defended the church body's recent call that its member denominations consider withdrawing investments from firms profiting from the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

The United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church USA, The Episcopal Church, amongst other main line churches call for divestment . As an example, the Lutheran Church views are: “As a participating member in Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP),ELCA shares with CMEP many of its values, assumptions and views about the Middle East conflict. It strongly favors an open city of Jerusalem, an end to Israeli “occupation” of all land obtained since 1967, reduction in aid to Israel, an increase in humanitarian aid to the entire region, a freeze on all Israeli settlement expansion, a presence of international observers to monitor the current violence and more involvement of non-U.S. countries
in the region to mitigate the American “pro-Israel bias.” Any mentions of Palestinian violence against Israeli civilians are far and few between, and are usually attributed to the anger aroused by the “occupation.” It also attributes a reduction in Palestinian Christians to the closure of Jerusalem, preventing access to holy sites and humiliation of Palestinians through confiscation of ID cards. “(per ADL)

As an example of divestment,” UMC, The New England Conference, at its Annual Conference session held June 8-11, voted to urge the divesting of funds from companies that support the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territories. The resolution contains four statements of action:
That a committee be convened in the conference to create and maintain a list of companies that support in a significant way the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. The list will be delivered to all conference churches and conference investment managers. “

Pastor Jackson:
" . . . an open city of Jerusalem . . "
This has always been the under publicized issue. Many Christian denominations have traditionally resented any idea that Jerusalem is under the control of non-Christians. If the Muslims were in control, the same resentment would probably occur, only tempered by the standard intimidation factor, which Hebrews can't seem to muster-up.
In various respects, the position of the Church throughout history has been:
"A pocks on both other houses".
This resentment has been much more of a factor in the region then most people give credit. Both the Jews and Muslims have been placed in a position of trying to "bid" for the approval of the Christians. The Christians have been in the position of playing each off the other.
my suggestion to you pastor (and others) is read the Original Aramaic Matthew and realize, that Christianity is:
a. Not an "offshoot" of Judaism but a sect of the Jewish faith.
b. Requires complete pacifism--as one of the three most important differences between the two teachings. Therefore, any Christian who is not a total pacifist is more Jew then Christian and should therefore be divesting themselves. I suspect that would include you Mr. Jackson, if you are really a different person from Lars and Issac and Dr. Q, and Steve and and . . . .

Obama is right on. Nobel Peace Prize winner, Nelson Mandela’s 2001 letter to Thomas Freidman
Palestinians are not struggling for a "state" but for freedom, liberation and equality, just like we were struggling for freedom in South Africa.
Thomas, if you follow the polls in Israel for the last 30 or 40 years, you clearly find a vulgar racism that includes a third of the population who openly declare themselves to be racist. This racism is of the nature of "I hate Arabs" and "I wish Arabs would be dead". If you also follow the judicial system in Israel you will see there is discrimination against Palestinians, and if you further consider the 1967 occupied territories you will find there are already two judicial systems in operation that represent two different approaches to human life: one for Palestinian life and the other for Jewish life. Additionally there are two different approaches to property and to land. Palestinian property is not recognized as private property because it can be confiscated.
The Palestinian state cannot be the by-product of the Jewish state, just in order to keep the Jewish purity of Israel. Israel's racial discrimination is daily life of most Palestinians. Since Israel is a Jewish state, Israeli Jews are able to accrue special rights which non-Jews cannot do. Palestinian Arabs have no place in a "Jewish" state.
Apartheid is a crime against humanity. Israel has deprived millions of Palestinians of their liberty and property. It has perpetuated a system of gross racial discrimination and inequality. It has systematically incarcerated and tortured thousands of Palestinians, contrary to the rules of international law. It has, in particular, waged a war against a civilian population, in particular children.”

Nobel Peace Prize winner Carter in his book "Palestine Peace Not Apartheid" , pg 209, "...(I)n the United States, Israeli government decisions are rarely questioned, voices from Jerusalem dominate in our media..." In other words, Zionist dominate the US media. "At the same time, political leaders and news media in Europe are highly critical of Israeli policies, affecting public attitudes." "Citizens in 15 European nations, indicate that Israel was considered to be the top threat to world peace."

Ralph Nader has just announced his candidacy as a 3rd party candidate.
While I understand there are some differences between Obama's positions and his, they are few and minor.
the only significant difference is Obama's Israel position. This brings Nader out of the closet. Until recently, his public position was that only if Ms. Clinton was the nominee, would he consider running. Obama's recent rebuke of Mr. Farrakhan may have helped nudge Nader into the race. Though he denies it, he may be a ‘one issue’ candidate.
BTW: As I have previously stated, Nader (like many other high-profile lefties) were supporters of Israel in the 1960’s.

I disagree that Nadar does not have positions any different than Obama. There are huge differences. For example, Nadar is a true Green candidate. Obama support nuclear energy and coal, way off the green course.

It doesn't matter anyway. Nadar is too old news, has run to many times and never really gleaned any significant support. Some dems will vote for him because they will not like the eventual Dem nominee, whether it is Obama or Clinton. I personally liked John Edwards and Hillary is my second choice.

Re Obama - If he were a muslim, it would make a difference given the current war on terror, and the undertones of a religious war, whether people will acknowledge it or not. Although not all muslims are radical, the fact still remains that some are and nno muslim needs to be the US president right now. Even Rumney encounter religious stigma for being a Morman, a Christian related denomation.

I think most people will check it out and realize that he is not a Muslim.

If it is true that he is not pro Israel, then that could hurt him, no matter how much anybody wants to debate it otherwise, or even whether it should be this way or not. That's just the way it is right now.

Most farmed sources of energy use more resources (behind the scenes) then they save, plus they produce much hidden pollution. Solar is nearly "green", except for the environmental cost of producing the delivery systems. Wind, Wave and Tide power is also nearly "green" except conservationists dislike the way they look on the landscape.
Anyway, the greenest of them all is Helium 3. But getting it may require a war over rights to the moon because the H-3 is found only on the lunar surface.

Obama has supported Nuclear power, which means you have a point. The question is how much of a point? To your thinking, the differences may be profound. That is exactly what Nader said in his announcement on "Meet the Press".
But the equally important question is: Relative to the rest of the electorate, is Nader that far afield from Obama? I say not a chance. To the average "Archie Bunker", Obama probably is indistinguishable. I therefore stay with my earlier impression and opinion. If Nader costs Obama one vote, either in the booths or in the squabbling, its a bad idea. Nader should have gone for the Democratic nomination if he wanted to run. In the 1960s and 1970s he was a Democrat. His close associate was Mark Green, a leftist Democrat from New York City who is still a "D" and runs Air-America Radio.
Nader knows he has ZERO chance of winning, all the more so because Obama is a super candidate. Nader has morphed his positions over the years to find open (un-occupied) political turf. Nader BTW is a genius and therefore is too smart to believe some of his own rhetoric. He's like the neighbor next door who reports you if your car is parked 3 inches too far from the curb. He should be gearing up to support Obama and hopefully, Obama would find a place for him if successful in the new administration. He predicted he would have 15 percent (or more) of the vote in yr- 2,000. The result? He got 2.7 percent and we got Bush. He's one of these super smart guys--who can't necessarily tie his own shoe-laces.
PS- Anyone who gets righteous about the "Green" thing and personally uses (or supports the use) of animal products is (IMHO) a 'carpet-bagging' greenist. Animal farming causes more waste, inefficiency and pollution--then any other single human vice.
Please excuse my animosity but I love these Bolshevik greenies who have no money anyway (therefore nothing to personally loose in the transaction) are 'hyper-capitalists' when it comes to social interaction (i.e., the beautiful ones have all the 5EX) and their big personal contribution to the "cause" is not shaving and wearing a pair of Birkenstocks.
I don't mean you per-se Sue, I don't know you at all and you were very polite. I am just venting.

Nader understands the middle east situation better than Obama. Nader's kin came from Lebanon.

Josh, I agree, there are no perfect candidates, however it is essential that the President of the USA be pro-America and that he promote patriotism for America, which includes saluting the flag.

Pete:
With all due respect:
Lebanon is probably the single most screwed up politically of all the nations in the M.E.
The Palestinian-Arabs are not allowed to hold full time jobs.
They have either been on the verge of civil war or, in a civil war for the past 40 years. Unlike Israel, Lebanon depends on its constitution--which mandates Catholic control. War lords are rampant. The Palestinian so called "refugees" are not 2nd class citizens, they are 3rd class citizens, behind the Lebanese Muslims.
By your thinking I should really be U.S. President because my family name is mentioned in the Bible. (???)

All of this is probably a smear. But, why is it so hard to verify whether the next President of the United States will say the pledge or salute the flag? He will be the Commander in Chief. Obama should be able to dispel these rumours by simply partaking in the trappings of the presidency. He could stop these rumors easily; but not doing so he is giving them life.

Trollstein, where is that in your Bible? Anyway, you are an anti-Semite(Arab), your opinion is not worth responding to. You impress me as being the David Duke of the ethnocentric Jews.

Well, if Bill "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton disputes it, that settles it, right?

"All real Jews support Ms Clinton and not Obama."

Neither you nor the chamor you rode in on are going to tell me I'm not a real Jew. You're a bigot, period.

Hillary and Bill Clinton attend Black churches at home and on the campaign trail and have for years and years. Has anyone investigated any of these churches for Islamic connections? Bill Clinton's office has been in Black Harlem for the past eight years. The Clintons must be Afro-Americans. Neither Hillary, Bill or Chelsea wear a flag pin. This must mean they have refused wear the pin in protest to our country. They must be Muslim terrorists. LOL!

Pete:
I am a Pharisee. My family is all over both the old and New Testaments. (We are also one of the most slandered and discriminated against people in the Christian tradition.) As all modern Rabbinical Judaism was created by Pharisees, my family essentially wrote the Jewish scriptures. (Which does not mean I agree with them).
There is no Arab more ‘Semitic’ then me. Nor are there any with family roots in Judea longer then mine. “David Duke”? Grow up and post facts. Or debate facts. Information has no political, ethnic or religious identity, or at least it shouldn’t. If the true facts come off as being anti-Arab, its because reality has a tendency to do that. The solution to that problem is NOT to name call or to lie, two favorite pass-times of the anti Israel brigades. Such tactics only are meaningful to cave-dwelling bone-drummers (a growing chorus in the 21st century). If I was an Arab Muslim, my opinion would be exactly the same--because it is based on information. Of course, I might not live to tell about it.

Factcheck.org has confirmed that the flyers that Obama distributed regarding Hillary Clinton's position on NAFTA and health care reform DEFINTITELY DO MISREPRESENT her positions.

Sue, that is just their(FatCheck.org) opinion. Bill Clinton lead us into Globalism with NAFTA and WTO and Bush only implemented it. They both are controlled by Wall Street. Obama is going to be our next President, so let's all get on board.

Obama made an interesting point today about Billary's new found anger. The controversial printed pieces had been in circulation before the last debate--when Billary was all kissie-face and puppy-eyed with Obama. Apparantly, that card not working, she asked for a shuffle. Whether the claims are 100% correct, 50% correct or completely incorrect, does not answer this question. Why all-of-a-sudden Billary?
The Clintons and Bushes remind me of Professional wrestlers who create poles of animocity while they trade off championship titles. Every once and a while, they even trade off "god-guy, bad-guy" positions, just to keep things lively.

I don't think we have to worry about Muslim terrorists ending Western Civilization. We'll just dumb ourselves to death, thank you and the rest of the world can be better off without us!

Even if Obama did say that, I don't see anything wrong with it. It's true that we give Israel too much money and unquestioninig support. And it wouldn't be that bad an idea to give the Palestinians an equal amount in order to force compromise or their mutual destruction. Also, I hope his being black does cause him to have more sympathy for those in the third world. I personally think empathy and sympathy are good qualities to have in a president. This "anti" Obama email only makes him sound more attractive in my eyes.

Just because someone does not support the policies of Israel does not mean he is racist. Does U.S. undying support of Israel mean that Americans are racist towards Palestinians. No--it just means the Israeli lobyist have a lot of money and influence.

"AIPAC does not call the shots all by itself. The fact is that American public opinion is decisively with Israel, and to the extent that it isn’t, it is still not with the Palestinians. Consider this…
In August 2006, with the Lebanon War in full swing, with Israel having recently pounded Gaza, destroying the airport there and severely damaging its power plant, with Israel’s image taking some serious hits, Americans were asked whether they sympathized more with Israel or with the Palestinians. 52% said Israel, and only 11% said the Palestinians. These findings, from the Pew Research Center, also reflect a consistent pattern. Since 2003, support for Israel has fluctuated between 37% and 52% while that for the Palestinians between 9% and 13%."

Now, I see all sorts of "special interest" political ads on TV, all day, every day. From medical issues to the "Surveillance Act" and everything in between, except I do not see pro-Israeli political TV ads. The closest thing I see is when certain evangelical TV preachers speak about "Gods Chosen". Perhaps the "lobbyists" have gotten to them.
Speaking critically of Israel is not racist. Lying about Israel is. The propagandic creation of an "evil empire" in the form of an all persuasive "Israel Lobby" also is.
It is not unilatterally up to the Jew-haters to define what constitutes a "racist" either.

The Jews have great influence on the media in America according to Carter in his book "Palestine Peace Not Apartheid" , pg 209, "...(I)n the United States, Israeli government decisions are rarely questioned, voices from Jerusalem dominate in our media..." In other words, Zionist dominate the US media. "At the same time, political leaders and news media in Europe are highly critical of Israeli policies, affecting public attitudes." "Citizens in 15 European nations, indicate that Israel was considered to be the top threat to world peace."
