Clinton Campaign: Obama = Ken Starr

The Clinton campaign is now pushing the idea that Obama's stepped-up attacks on Hillary Clinton are mere rehashes of the Republican hit jobs that Clinton has endured for so many years. "Imitating Ken Starr is not the way to win the Democratic nomination," the campaign wrote in a memo to reporters.

It's a really crafty and well-designed line. I get the sense that there are Democrats voting in these primary states that don't necessarily want to see Hillary Clinton win the nomination, but they don't want to see her lose it either. Every time she is on her way out, they pull her back in (see NH, OH, TX). That's because after years of taken beatings at the hands of bullies and jerks on the right, she's an incredibly sympathetic figure to millions of Democrats. The Clinton campaign isn't going to convince anybody that Barack Obama is as bad as Ken Starr or Newt Gingrich, but they can remind voters that Clinton doesn't deserve to get trashed all over again.

This sort of retort is total BS.
HRC et al . were slinging boulders from thier glass house last week, and it worked for them.
Now that BHO is forced down in the mud with her, she is crying foul?
Bullsh*t.
She is the dirtiest of all players, and if, "if" she eeks out this primary, she deserves to get her ass handed to her my McInsane.

-A frustrated Obamaniac, who won't vote for her. ever.

I disagree - it's not about deserving. Clinton has set the standard for trying to present negative information to undermine her competitor. Now it's just a matter of what's good for the goose...

I used to defend the Clintons through thick and thin and especially so during the Ken Starr years. Now the thought of them being thrown under the bus doesn't even quicken my pulse. Their ugly side has been brought into clear focus through this campaign. My mother has maintained for years that Hillary is a bitch - something I always chalked up to Republican bias - now I'm inclined to admit not for the first time that mother knows best. Thanks, Mom.

The subtext being "if you criticize Hillary, you're just slinging mud." What the heck, that strategy has worked for AIPAC for years -- "You criticized Israeli policies. You're anti-Semitic."

Both crap.

America really is ready for another 4 or 8 years of Bushish or Clintonish Whitehouse? Unbelievable if it is. America DO need (mandate, OK?) a new face for the head of the nation. Experience (expertise) can come from staffs the leader employs (just as Reagan did/tried). Don't be confused by any mud. Only muddy people can sling mud. This year, fortunately, we have a slightly different face. Even if the difference is only slightly, that difference is ABSOLUTE mandate. Don't waste of money. Don't waste of time. Don't waste of energy. Just quetly think about it.

To bob d: I believe that they (media and white people) have taken what Michelle Obama said, "that this was the first time she felt proud to be black " out of context. If you are an African American man you would understand completely what she meant by her statement.

Seems to me that HRC's campaign is trying to claim that it has the right to both eat and have its cake.

It's not a remotely plausible claim (Is Barack Obama wildly expanding the limits of his statutory authority? Is he grilling the former President about dalliances with an intern?), but I don't blame the campaign for floating this line.

Now, it would be nice if our media (mainstream or lefty) tried to evaluate the accuracy of this claim rather than just opine about whether it'll be effective.

Does Jonathan Stein work under a quota system where he has to post so many words a day whether they make sense or not? Cuz this post is utter gibberish.

>> "there are Democrats voting in these primary states that don't necessarily want to see Hillary Clinton win the nomination, but they don't want to see her lose it either." Huh?

>> "Imitating Ken Starr is not the way to win the Democratic nomination," But apparently they think that channeling Karl Rove is.

>> "It's a really crafty and well-designed line." It may seem so if you are stoned, drunk, or sleep-deprived, but if your brain is clicking on all cylinders, it's inaccurate and insulting.

Get a good night's sleep, Jonathan, then beg the web editor to never again let you post something where you embarrass yourself.

Hell, Hillary didn't know what was going on in the white house when Bill was president. If she had she would have known about Monica.

You have to be willing to get as low as your opponent. Why isn't anyone mentioning anything about the impeachment?? The scandal that brought our country to it's knees literally???

Hillary wants to take credit for the good things that went on in her husbands presidency. Well there's a flip side. She surely has to take responsibility for the sexual excapades also.

["Hell, Hillary didn't know what was going on in the white house when Bill was president. If she had she would have known about Monica."]

How do you Know she Didn't, and just give a shit..., UNTIL it became a public affair, and then she HAD to take public notice?

["You have to be willing to get as low as your opponent."]

Oh, great!
So if my opponent is, say, adolph hitler, or joe stalin then I'm excused of nearly ANY form of atrocity I can dream up.
Sorry.
I don't buy that logic, and I hope you really don't either.

McCain is Hitler/Stalin/Satan incarnate.

We must do everything to save the world from four more years of the same failed policies.

Say What??? Not saying that you have to resort to the same atrocities, But yes you have to be willing to do the same thing to your enemy as he his willing to do to you.

["McCain is Hitler/Stalin/Satan incarnate.

We must do everything to save the world..."]

Same sh!t.
Different election.

My whole voting life I've heard (seen) this said by dyed-in-the-wool partisan voters from BOTH parties about WHOEVER "The Other Guys" are running.
It's always the same.
And running against The LAST Guy, rather than the guy who's actually running...!

I guess we must have elected Satan AT LEAST Half of the 9 presidential elections since I started voting.

Next you'll tell me: "THIS election is Just TOO Important to waste your vote on a third party, "conscience" vote!"
The good ol' Politics of Fear!

Heard it from the Dems and the Reps in 2004.
And In 2000.
And 1996.
And 1992...
Shit..., I've WASTED my vote every time I voted for a MAJOR party candidate, because even when my candidate won I didn't elect anybody who actually CHANGED the office for the better..., like someone who was willing to Run the Executive Branch according to the limits set forth in the CONSTITUTION!

Heard Obama promise to do that?
I haven't.

Heard Clinton say anything of the sort?
Not me.

Anything like that from McCain?
Nope.

Do you suppose it's because they have No INTENTION of functioning within those limits? I do.

If you guys want to elect an 'Evil', because you think some other 'Evil' would be worse.., be my guest.
I quit being a party to electing 'Evil' over voting for the best person for the job 3 losers ago.

["Not saying that you have to resort to the same atrocities, But yes you have to be willing to do the same thing to your enemy as he his willing to do to you."]

HA!
Way to seize the Moral HIGH Ground!!

Your statement seems to contain an internal contradiction, but you point out PRECISELY why it makes NO Difference which major party asshole you Elect!
EITHER will be willing to stoop to whatever depth is necessary to gain power.
If that's what you want and what you support, you'll Surely get it.
Don't be surprised when you find out it sucks, but you can soothe your conscience later by making believe it would have sucked worse under 'the other guy'. NOBODY can prove you're WRONG! but who can prove you're RIGHT!

Will NEVER vote for her either. Never Ever. I am grateful to her campaign for foolishly bringing up Ken Starr to remind people of what 4 more Clinton years might look like...if anyone believes good old Bill hasn't been up to his old tricks, there is a bridge to nowhere I'd like to sell you. And those shenanigans of his will all come out on Day One.

Obama should demonstrate that Hillary cares only about her own nomination, and that made her stage dirty attacks that can make the Party lose the elections in November.
He should go after the docuemtns released this week of Bill Clinton about the tax cuts and the administration of her husband. Cease the chance of the bad ugly camparison of Obam con Ken Starr.America must prove to the world that it is credibile.

["Obama should demonstrate that Hillary cares only about her own nomination.."]

Why should he?

HILLARY is doing a smash-up job of demonstrating that on a daily basis.

Anybody who doesn't see it on their own.., hasn't seen it already.., Doesn't WANT to see it, and WON'T, no matter how clearly Barack points it out.
