Klobuchar Endorses Obama; Says She Has "Faith" Clinton Will "Do the Right Thing"
On Monday morning, Senator Amy Klobuchar endorsed Barack Obama--and joined Senator Claire McCaskill as another prominent female senator from a purple state backing Obama. During a conference call with reporters, Klobuchar noted that she expected the fierce Democratic nomination contest to continue "through the primaries." But what about after that? In an interview on Saturday, Hillary Clinton vowed she would stay in the contest past the primaries--which end in early June--until the convention, which opens at the end of August. Would Klobuchar echo the call of other fretting Democrats that the race should somehow be decided soon after the primaries conclude?
Clinton, she said, "has every right to continue her campaign." But, Klobuchar added that she had "faith our candidates will figure it out" and that the contest "will come to an end in the early summer." Our candidates, she remarked, "will do the right thing."
Perhaps. But Clinton is only digging in her heels, and there's no official mechanism through which the Democrats could declare the race over prior to the late-summer convention. Faith--and hope--may not be enough to settle the matter in June.

Things could change a bit more if HRC does poorly, or conversely if BHO does poorly.
There is still time for one to rise above. Support could swing wildly for either.
However, that being said it would take a very poor showing for BHO to be effected while it will take a near stellar showing for HRC to fabricate more tortured logic to twist arms or bust the kneecaps of traitors and Judas'.

Superdelegates should hold off. The truth is only just beginning to come out about Barack Obama. See:

At this point Hillary Clinton's campaign is nothing but a sustained tantrum of "I want to be President! I want to be President!" Any other candidate in her situation would have dropped out by now. She's doomed by the math. She's remaining in the race by the good graces of the media. She's provided a goldmine of material. Once the groundwork for the general election starts taking shape (and I think the desintegrating situation in Iraq will set that in motion) we will see John McCain and Barack Obama lock horns. Clinton can remain in the race untill the convention if she wants, but once people start focusing in on the two choices they'll be looking at in November she'll be irrelevant. She's a side show to the main event.
My guess is that the super delegates will move in a tidal wave to Obama and end this long before the convention. The Hillary can go on her Hillary Clinton: I'm Doing OK, Thanks for Asking Tour" You know, once she does drop out the clintons will launch a relentless media blitz to keep themselves in the news.

Well said, Saintzak. And thanks for the warning, kerkbrew. I wasn't going to go there anyway, but it's good to hear it was what I suspected it would be.

We have primaries for a good reason. Let's let them proceed. As a Democrat, I am not being "torn apart" by the process. I don't think the party is being torn apart. I live in a state with mail in only ballots and one of the things I dislike about that is that people "vote" prior to the poll date. Hillary should not resign. I will vote for whomever the Democrats finally decide is the right candidate, but I want to cast my vote in Oregon before "someone else" decides for me.

There are several primaries and caucuses to go. HRC is certainly entitled to continue to make her case to those voters. I also expect her to do the right thing when that part of the process is over.

There's so much more sexism than racism in this election. All I have to say is "Let the best woman win!"
