Jesse Ventura Update (Not Running for Prez)

This will be your last Jesse Ventura post for 2008, hopefully. Speculation about Ventura running for president was ill-founded. He used his appearance on Larry King Live to tell America three things: (1) He supports Ron Paul. (2) He'd rather vote for "none of the above" than McCain, Obama, or Clinton. (3) He'd like to run for president, but it's too late to get in the race and he'd never raise enough money.

And now we're done with this weird little subplot.

Comments

Maybe YOU are done. Minnesota isn't so lucky. He got back in the news by saying he doesn't like either Senate candidate and might run. Franken hasn't won the Democratic endorsement yet but I assume Ventura means Franken and Coleman. When he won governor, the people I know who voted for him said, and I quote, "What the hell." Of course, things are much more serious than they were ten years ago.

Jesse Ventura Took the Low Road recently on the Larry King Talk Show. He chided Lou Dobbs as being fearful of those "little brown people" among whom he lives deep in the interior of Mexico.

If we close down the border, Jesse and the corporations will see just how much love those little brown people have for gringos. The export of illegal aliens to the U.S. is their only motive for "loving" gringos." Money sent home by illegals is the second largest industry in Mexico.

America is not worried as long as Jesse and his little brown people stay down there. It's when they come up here, become a burden to our taxpayers and overburden our schools, degenerate our language and culture that they worries us.

By the way, Jesse, as a gringo you could not own land on the seashore or within 50 miles of any external Mexican boundary--their constitution prohibits it. Enjoy your new-found freedoms (without public utilities or paved roads) and youyr little brown people, Jesse.

Jesse Ventura should stick to making that one episode of the xfiles with jose chung in it. That was the first--and only--time I enjoyed Ventura in anything.

Of course, since all work on that episode stopped like 13 years ago, my proposal requires that Mr. Ventura fade into obscurity. I'm cool with that.

I second the xfiles episode motion.

Jesse said if you want to stop illegal immigration, go after the companies who are hiring. Try reading his book and finding out what he really stands for on issues before jumping to conclusions. He did NOT say he supported Ron Paul. And his decision not to run is based on how difficult it would be to get ballot access at this point in time. The rules (made up by the Ds and Rs) make it VERY difficult for 3rd parties to get access and to get into the debates.

i agree with joe....read his book, before you put him down...he's articulate, interesting, innovative....and...HONEST....he'd make a great president!...no kidding!...do you want more lies?....do you want to watch your "golden years" turn into your BLAcK YEARS"?....THEN VOTE DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN...TWO HEADS ON THE SAME BEAST.......we need an HONEST president....one who will take CARE OF OUR COUNTRY....and of the constitutional rights we are barely hanging onto!

an interesting point from the article Jonathan linked to:
Ventura went on to gain the highest approval rating of any governor in Minnesota history, with some polls ranking his public approval as high as 73 percent in 1999.

so yeah, laugh on at the guy who was a joke with no shot at winning
