Another Example of Why You Can't Trust the Right on Politics of the Left

Yesterday, I made the case that those of us on the left shouldn't use the arguments of those on the right, even if they ring true, in our own internal debates. An Obama supporter, for example, shouldn't use a right-wing blogger's case against Clinton as evidence because the right-wing blogger's motives are suspect: does she really like Obama, or does she simply want to sow seeds of discord and stir up trouble. She doesn't have the left's best interests at heart, after all.

Yesterday, the Obama campaign found an excellent example of my point. Here is the text of a National Right to Life robocall being made to Democrats in Indiana:

"Hello, this is National Right to Life PAC, asking you to vote against Barack Obama in tomorrow’s primary election.
"Barack Obama has said that his first act as President would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would enshrine abortion on demand into federal law and would require tax funding of abortion. This bill would legalize partial birth abortion again.
"Barack Obama even voted against saving the lives of babies who survive late term abortion.
"You can vote in either party's primary. If you vote in the Democratic primary, please do not vote for Barack Obama.
"Thank you.
"This message not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. NRLPAC, NRLPAC.ORG, 202-626-8805 is responsible for the content of this advertising and paid for this call."

I shouldn't have to point out that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are both proudly pro-choice and no Democrat (or independent, or Republican) can distinguish between the two candidates on the issue of abortion. Presumably, the National Right to Life recognizes that this protracted Democratic primary fight is helpful for the Republican Party and is inveighing against the Democratic frontrunner. Don't trust 'em!

The new Mayor of Rome, was a time for celebration by the fascists today. Mr Alemanno’s election was celebrated by hundreds of supporters chanting “Duce! Duce!” and raising their arms in Mussolini’s fascist salute.

The new mayor said that his first action would be to begin “immediate expulsions” of the 20,000 immigrants in the city with criminal records.

“We cannot welcome them without discipline,” he said. “We will chase out the delinquents.

The right is on the march through out Europe. Look at the new London Mayor who is like the new Mayor of Rome.

Jonathan:

Dialectic is the art or practice of examining statements logically, as by question and answer, to establish validity.

The LEFT must do their own dialectic in support of their own rhetoric without any regard at all for the RIGHT. Surely people can see that Hillary Clinton is doing REPUBLICAN dialectic. She sounds just like a REPUBLICAN. She and Bill have cooperated so much that she can't tell the difference.

Another example of how the right is well behind Hillary to draw this out. I know a lot of right-wing-nut-jobs in Indiana who are going to vote for her, but will vote Republican in the general. At least 5 to 10% of her support since Super Tuesday has been Republicans.

kirkbrew, you are right. Operation Kaos is payback for the left voting in the GOP primaries to elect the leftist nutjob McCain. What goes around comes around.

mr kirkbrew,

I think you have it a little low on the numbers involved in operation Kaos. There were field reports this morning and all day that in MANY precincts, out of 178 ballots issued, about 170 of them were asking for dem ballots.
Some poll workers started making stupid faces, and the voters just LAUGHED in the face of the very liberal workers..:-) This is what you dems get when you have open primary elections.
Since you want the ability of every fringe nut job to be able to support the dems, you should also expect manipulation by the other side.
The democrat party is made of of a bunch of little fringe gourps (liberals, hippies, homosexies, t-genders, etc) and has problems with just being one party.
Maybe you should make some changes in the futrue..?

What do you think..?

Bill

Maybe you should stop trolling and prepare to start crying Bill, everything I hear lately says the Republicans are going to be crushed in congress and if McCain keeps moving towards Bush policies he will be crushed too.

"you should also expect manipulation by the other side."

That sure says a lot for the ethics, honor, sense of honesty, dedication to democracy, etc of "the other side"
